This is without a doubt the worst bread I have eaten. Actually it came presented on the outside as a large golden brown bagel. This is only a thin skin. On the inside is that cardboard cheap white bread with no taste that can be squashed into a tiny ball in your hand. SHAME ON YOU GLICKS for ripping people... More

I called at this address yesterday and found that Glick's Cakes and Bagels in Flinders Lane was no longer open for business. The 325 Flinders Lane shop is shut, but several other shops, including in Carlyle St, in St Kilda, are still open. Glick';s serve kosher food, that is, it is suitable for those who follow the Jewish dietary laws.... More

Let me be clear the Glicks I went to is in Glenferrie Road Malvern but is the same family and chain of stores. I don't care what their bagels and cakes are like. I have never been TOTALLY ignored before. So no matter what I wanted to purchade short of jumping over the counter and serving myself there was no... More

We drive over 25 minutes for a Glick's Bagel. They are fresh and they are cheap. The variety of good pastries and breads is fantastic. And if it is Kosher you want, this is the place.

I loved the service and the kosher bagels! The coffee was perfect and we even brought some cookies away with us which were yummy.

We arrived at 3.15 p.m. on a cold and wet August afternoon to find this place had closed at 3 p.m. However, the staff were still there clearing up after the lunch-time rush and welcomed us in. We only wanted a bagel and hot drink, but the staff were very welcoming and asked if nonetheless they could prepare some other... More

Whether you visit Glicks because you only eat kosher food, whether you are of Jewish background and a traditionalist, or not Jewish at all but like a good bagel and authentic kosher food, Glicks is an icon. To really benefit from Glicks kosher food, visit the foundation store in Carlisle St, St Kilda East. But if you don't get a... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
