We had a delicious meal here and if you are after really good Indian food then this place is a winner. Just save going to the bathroom until you get home. The toilets are really not the best. The carpet leading up the stairs is sticky and dirty. The staff are friendly and the service is good. The back of... More

Yes we totally agree with the previous reviewer. Used to be a favourite of ours but was taken over (we presume) last year and has not been as good since. One of the few places that do Dosas and the Tandoori dishes are good too but the whole ambience seems to have disappeared to the extent that we have not... More

We have been coming here for 9 years now and used to love this place. We used to visit Mela almost 2-3 times a week. The food was tasty and reasonable. We used to wait for the weekend menu – which was tasty, authentic and reasonably priced. But the restaurant and the food has just gone downhill since early 2015,... More

Food here is worthy of a visit. Nothing that would rate as outstanding, but enjoyable, wholesome street food. The décor is not trying very hard but I guess it doesn't need to. Worth dropping by for a quiet meal before heading off to the night spots of Northbridge!

Mela has painstakingly recreated an Indian restaurant in the Sikh Punjab, down to its tacky fit out (i love the roller door that separates the restaurant a homage to industrial chic), obligatory funky looking grime build up under the counters, and a menu which encapsulates Glaswegian Chicken Tikka Marsala, and a strange assortment of Vindahloo's (NB its only made with... We were in Perth for business and a colleague took us here for dinner. Great Indian food. The thali is definitely the way to go because you get a bit of everything. They allow BYO which was also handy.

Almost every time I go to this restaurant, I would order the Seafood Thai or non-Veg Thali which is filling. The Okra Curry which is also available as a Friday Lunch special will make you drool.

This restaurant does not have functioning aircon, despite appearances. The food arrives very slowly or not at all. Bring a sandwich ! No obvious concept of customer service, or the ability to recognise errors. We asked several times where our main course was, and eventually left having paid only for the food that did arrive. We have visited this place... More
