I have been visiting Perth for many years, and used to stay in a hotel in the Hay st mall area. This restaurant was always an easy walk and just a delight for Japanese food. Now there are many more Japanese restaurants in town but this never fails to please. Put simply, a bento box and a glass of wine,... More

Always reliable and enjoyable for takeaway (or dine in) Although QV1 is being renovated it doesn't ruin the vibe in the restaurant but takeaway means you generally have to go back to the office to eat which is ok. Been around for years and hope they are around many years to come!

6 of us went to Matsuri for supper and had a good time. Food was good and really good value, $20 per bento meal. Took our own wine and service was ok. Our meals included tofu for starters, chicken katsu curry, beef, ginger chicken and tempura prawns, and all were extremely good value. We will come back for supper.

Went here for lunch and was not disappointed yet again. Been going here over many years and it always does well. Especially profits from the people in QV1 looking for a quick and easy lunch.

We loved this place. Yummiest miso with clams ever. Sushi was awesome as well as the teriyaki chicken. Value for money and lovely staff. Great place for families as well.

We visited with friends for dinner. I was surprised by the presentation; I was expecting a slightly more upmarket venue. However the food was extremely good, and such great serves for the price. Certainly good speedy service, and the food definitely did not disappoint. I would recommend a visit if you love your sushi and basic Japanese foods.

Always a good bet for a quick and easy, good quality Japanese meal at lunchtime if you work at QV1, but you'll pay $25+ for a basic Bento box. Anyway, fine if you're on business expenses, but not the sort of place to go for a casual cheap and cheerful lunch, unless you go for the takeaway selection, of course.

Great selections for the Lunch menu and reasonable prices, friendly staff and the service is fast. The food is always good and fresh. We enjoyed two of the Teishoku Set. Fish Ginger and Beef Teriyaki. We were very happy with the food.

Service is friendly and prompt. Taste is good and they have limited vegetarian choices. Salad and small dishes came to the rescue.

Don't expect haute cuisine. Think of it as a bistro, then you are not disappointed. In the CBD in Perth in winter, a lot of the restaurants are closed for dinner except on Friday. So the Matsuri was not a bad choice. My daughter had the eel rice - good enough. I had teriyaki beef set - beef was too... More
