Live just around the corner, but hasn't been there yet, and that's a loss for us! It's a great place, with excellent atmosphere, a very nice semi-rooftop outside area (away from the busy street), even with outside fire. The burgers were excellent, and the beer...More

Came here for dinner recently for the first time since the place was renovated, happy to see they have kept the fireplace and have a good range of beer and cider. I had a large and delicious fish burger with two battered fillets, but my...More

Thanks for your feedback Sarah. We're glad you enjoyed the burger but do apologise that you did not feel your Dad's portion was large enough. We'll certainly pass your feedback on to the chef and follow up on what happened here.

Well worth stopping in after work on a Friday for the 50c Buffalo Wings. Really do taste like the real thing, which can be hard to find in Auckland. As an expat, I'm always on the search and this place did not disappoint. The perfect...More

I had the hamburger $18, wouldn't rave about it but the chips were among the best I've tasted and I'm not the greatest chip or potato fan. The chips were served with mayo which is, always to me, the Dutch way. The meat pattie wasn't...More

This place is great. Design. Service. Pricepoint. Ambience. They could extend their menu but that's only a suggestion. Loved it!

We went here twice in September with a group of people including children who are well catered for. It is very casual with classic bistro food and great pizzas. They have daily deals and roasts on Sunday, which I'm yet to try. The place is...More

Malt Bar was fine for relaxing with a quiet drink and a pizza on a Sunday night. Not sure if it's like this every Sunday or not. The haloumi stuffed mushrooms were really nice, as was the salmon pizza.

Description
Malt Public House is Grey Lynn's new local Gastropub! Located in the vibrant West Lynn village this new venue is the perfect blend of bustling bar and up beat dining spot. Surroundings are relaxed and comfortable in the dining and bar area with a friendly vibe. It's brilliantly cosy in front of the open wood fire on the ample outdoor deck. Our menu has all the old favourites and we have tempting daily specials to get your taste buds going! Our chef uses premium local produce and well thought out flavour combinations to deliver a interesting and varied grazing selection as well as fresh and hearty pub classics, all prepared with a tasty twist. The team focus at Malt Public House is on quality and service. From the selection of premium and craft beers, to our carefully selected wines. Great service is integral to what we create, and setting a warm welcoming environment is very important to us. Our team prides itself on delivering knowledgeable and friendly service. Malt Bar was originally opened in 2003 as a tapas bar and was an instant hit with the surrounding area. 13 years of drinking and dining meant it was ready for refurbishment, its current owners took up the challenge of doing this. The rebuild involved moving the bar and kitchen (all brand new), extending the interior, building brand new bathrooms, plus a new sun-filled deck with views across Hakanoa St.
