We chanced upon Ti Kouka when we were walking around Wellington looking for somewhere for brunch/coffee. Unsure of what we'd find when we walked up the stairway from the street, we got a great welcome and were surprised by the lovely bright dining area. Top service, amazing food (try the avo/feta on grainy toast) and very good coffee. If we... More

Went with a group of friends for brunch. Offered gluten free choices which they even advertise on their website which was the reason we choose to go there. Other cafes should put GF options online also. Service was good and friendly helpful staff. Nice atmosphere and food tasted delicious too.

A group of us met for lunch after making a reservation because several people were on lunch breaks, all be it extended. The restaurant was packed and there only seemed to be one waiter trying to attend to everyone. This place has a good reputation, but the food was disappointing. The bread and dips ordered for the table consisted of... More

We sat upstairs in Ti Kouka with a great view of the street. The breakfasts were excellent as was the service. A really brilliant place for breakfast or a snack in the daytime.

My daughter and I went here for lunch. My daughter got the salmon and I got the beef hamburger. Both were delicious. When I say hamburger I am not talking about a regular beef burger. This was a sandwich made of perfectly cooked beef brisket and delicious trimmings. It is a very nice portion served on a freshly made roll.... More

Arrived in Wellington from a cruise ship. We were dropped off and kindly given a map from a friendly volunteer, she suggested this place as we wanted to find a cafe with free wifi. It is near a supermarket and the sign is above the door, you go up to the first floor. They were very welcoming and we enjoyed... More

Have tried to get into this place a couple of times walking in off the street but they've always been busy (which is a good sign). Decided to plan in advance this time and booked a table for lunch. Theres a really great vibe in here and the service was excellent. Plenty to choose from on the menu and seems... More

Ti Kouka cafe was started by brothers Jesse Simpson and Shepherd Elliott in November 2010. Jesse runs the front of house and makes the beautiful coffees and Shepherd runs the kitchen and makes the delicious food. We use local, sustainable and organic produce when ever possible. We use Flight's beautiful direct trade and organic coffee and Zorganic's milk and other dairy products. We also offer free range and organic eggs, chicken and juices. We believe that using the best ingredients gives our food and drinks an edge that you can taste. We also believe we have a responsibility to do what we can to make sure we can continue to have the standard of produce we enjoy now. We compost all our scraps, recycle everything we can and will continue to improve as we go. In November of 2013 we opened Leeds St Bakery to supply TK and many others around wellington with Beautiful organic artisan breads.
