I only came here as it was a friends birthday dinner, otherwise I probably would not have come here as I am coeliac so did not expect there would be anything I could eat. I asked if I could just have some steamed vegetables and rice without sauce ( I didn't really care too much about the flavour) The chef... More

I have been visiting this place since 2008 whenever in Wellington. The food is always excellent especially the duck. Highly recommended.

My partner and I ordered our first takeaway from here this evening (we wouldn't dine in since the decor is stuffy and dated) and (for the first time in our lives) we had to return it. To begin with, it was barely even warm. The 'roasted duck slices in Beijing sauce with pancakes, spring onion and salad' was a very... More

I love Chinese food, but am no expert. We had a great meal and the lack of ambiance to my mind was ambiance. We ordered the garlic and chilli beef and stirfried veggies. Everything was cooked perfectly, the beef was tender and the veggies were crisp. If I lived in Wellington, this would be a Friday night go to!

Just dropped in as we had only just arrived in Wellington, it was a Friday evening and the place was packed. Never the less we were fitted into a small table, fast service delightful food and a reasonable price. The kitchen is open so you can see everything that that is being cooked.

We have been going to this restaurant for the last 20+ years, and have never had a bad experience. The food is amazing, favourite chicken dish has juicy, tender, flavoursome chicken. The vegetarian spring rolls are also some of the best I've tasted. The service is also excellent. Highly recommend.

This is often our go-to cafe. Always excellent food and the dumplings are light and delicious. Service is quiet and but friendly. If you like flashy trendy decor then don't come here. It's basic and functional, no more.

I have lived in Newtown 30+ years and have always seen this place and for the first time we went in to try their food! It was divine! The prawns, dumplings and soup for appetizers were tasty and delish! Our mains Chrispy Chicken and Combination Fried noodles scrumptious! Staff friendly. Will be going there again. Thank you for serving delicious... More

We visit Wellington every month and without fail at least dine twice at the Beijing each month, Suburban restaurant so décor is not lavish but the food is always amazing. Service is good not over attentive but there. Being small is often full so bookings are advisable. DID I Mention the food is amazing,

We had a thoroughly good meal at Beijing Restaurant. We were impressed with the number of asian people already seated, which is always a good indication. We called in mid week without reservation. I doubt we'd have got in at the weekend, due to it's popularity. The wait staff were helpful and efficient. The food was excellent.
