I was on my way to the airport and stopped for a quick bite. I had a serve of steamed gyoza and some salmon sashimi. Both were delicious, fresh and tasty and went down very quickly.

We ordered drinks before we saw a sign stating no split payments. We explained to the waitress that we were all on work expenses and required to pay our own order. This was declined and we had to leave the premises. Disgraceful communication, this is not able to be legally enforced and is a nonsense. Interestingly the next place had... More

Very friendly service. Good food and good price. Gyoza were a bit tasteless but the bento was delicious and fresh. Good place to go on a budget. Sushi is good too. Did have a resident pigeon who was eventually shooed out. Good value meal.

Having moved from overseas, I was on the look out for a local Japanese place to regularly come. Up a flight of stairs. Having spent time in Japan, it has a simple but authentic feel to it. The food is very tasty cooked right in front of you, albeit a bit overpriced for the size (although Wellington is expensive almost... More

Have really enjoyed coming here in the past so gathered a large group to attend and we were not able to pay as we ordered or split the payments which in the past has never been a problen. It was a huge hassle and we were overcharged $10 which someone had to pay, really unimpressed. Won't be returning, just was... More

Just had dinner there. Everything we had was really yum - the ramen was the best I've had so far in New Zealand. Everything was very reasonably priced too. My favourite thing was the service though - the waitresses were lovely and I loved the little drum thing they do when you order a shot of sake ^^

We've been here a few times, always when it's busy sometimes very late at night. We've never been disappointed. The service is casual, efficient, and friendly. There is yakitori, sushi, tempura, udon, ramen, soba and rice on the menu. But the highlight is the yakitori done on their barside grill. All pretty standard offerings, but with lots of flavour and... More

Had dinner here last Sunday night. No meat dishes available (ran out apparently) other than skewers. Food was ordinary, grossly over priced and extremely small servings. Rip off.

Love, love, love this place- we have been there many times and are always so impressed. It is authentic, the servers and chefs are so friendly and the food is exceptional. One of my favourite places to eat in Wellington.

Up a flight of stairs off Courtenay Place. You could easily walk right past. A humble space, Japanese speaking staff who are friendly and efficient hosts, they served me within minutes. The chef cooked my yakitori in front of me. Not fine dining, just good honest fare, the miso soup was good, the chicken yakitori was good, the rice was... More
