My girlfriend and I visited vista on Sunday for lunch recently. The food was outstanding. I would highly recommend a visit.

I was relieved to find The Vista Cafe two doors down from my hotel as it offers an excellent alternative to the rather average buffet breakfast at the Copthorne Hotel. Good range of breakfast options, nice coffee and pleasant staff. Dinner here also looked good and if I'd stayed longer in Wellington I definitely would have tried it based on... More
We had walked past this cafe a number of times. But last night it was after 9pm and we decided to give it a try. The decor was warm and inviting. The waitress was friendly, professional and respectful of my dietary requirements. The menu had a variety of dishes: a number of which could be eaten tapas style. Mains were... More
I don't remember licking the plate as a child --- but at Vista I wanted to lick-the-plate. I ate at Vista on two separate visits and each meal was OUTSTANDING. Locals seem to have an inside track to the food at this restaurant as the place was loaded with sharp-looking, food-conscious Wellington people. A friend did a take-out dinner at... More
What a wonderful surprise! I had just departed a Crystal Cruise (which is renown for it's cuisine) and spent some time in Wellington. The Vista was next door to our hotel, so we gave it a try. We have visited Vista on two occasions recently for breakfast and were very impressed with the service and food. I have had good old bacon and eggs while my friends have enjoyed pancakes. We will be back when next in Wellington
We ate here 5 years ago walking past when the World Cup was on. An this week we were in the neighbourhood again. The same owner is there and we really enjoyed the food, conversation and the service. The Whitebait Omelette ( more than a fritter) was excellent, and the wines are eclectic and local. I would really recommend it.
You know how when you go somewhere and you meet someone unpleasant? You really hope that it is just a bad day for them, that something has gone wrong and they are normally a pleasant and friendly person. The staff member attending to us fell into this category. I thought it was because we had a wriggly one year old... More
