With a number of cheap-eats Malaysian places around this one was also worth a try. I had my doubts but decided that the run down and poorly maintained interior and exterior should be ignored just in case the food was really good. The dirty windows, and walls, cobwebs and and faded paintwork made me nervous too. So to the meal.... More

Difficult to find, shabbily decorated and no alcohol available. BUT, and it's a very big but, brilliant Malaysian food at an incredibly reasonable price (we paid NZ$29.00 in total for a very tasty two-person meal). Highly recommended, unless you insist on hotel-style 'sophistication'.

Knew this was a great spot - very busy both times I walked through the mall, and made a point of swinging by there on the way home from a late meeting. Noodles (Nasi Gorang) were perfect, and the serving size was huge! Had some leftovers for the next day. I'm not too fussy about where I'm eating, but the... More

Hands down the best Asian takeout in Wellington, so good for students! First went there in 2009 and the place still hasn't changed, love it. Mee goreng and any of the curries are to die for!

Huge, tasty feeds for only $20. Super quick. Ideal to pop into for lunch from work. Modest interior, but so what, it's all about the great food and that's what restaurants should be all about. A jewel in the culinary crown of Cuba St!

Every time we come here, which is fairly often, it's always fantastic quality! Premium comfort food which also seems pretty healthy, the veggies are always fresh and perfectly cooked. They offer the best roti and satay sauce I have had, and the service is always friendly and very quick. Really cheap and easy takeaway food. You must go here if... More

This is my all time favourite. The mee goreng is delicious. Gigantic portions. The roti cheenai is also fantastic. Great value for money and always service with a smile. Always the highlight of a trip to Wellington.

This Malaysian cafe is in the Left Bank mall, which runs off Cuba Street. I was attracted there for lunch after smelling the wonderful aroma and ordered a Chicken Laksa -absolutely delicious. Cheap and unpretentious, this is a little hidden gem and highly recommended.

A very cool little restaurant. The staff are nice and it was quick and cheap. But the mee goreng and nasi goreng were big and bland. The nasi goreng didn't seem to have any spices at all and the mee goreng was just soy sauce.

The food is great and so are the prices. If you're looking for a tasty meal and friendly staff, this is the place for you! The noddles dishes are especially good, both for lunch and dinner. If you're a student, this is a way to get a great meal for a low price.
