Best pub we visited in NZ (we're from the UK). Friendly staff, great food and perfect location.Seemed like a good mixture of locals and visitors and no tourist hordes.

Atmosphere plus in this small, cosy, rustic tavern in the midst of wine country... with the fire roaring our pizzas, cooked in the outdoor oven, were absolutely delish! Welcoming and relaxing... a must visit to this delightful place just a short drive from Queenstown.

We called in for lunch on our way back from Wanaka. Staff very friendly. Food was nice, but not quite as spectacular as the other meals we have had over the last few days. its definitely worth a visit as location great.

Over the last few days we stopped their twice after activities for a few beers and their delicious pizzas prepared in their own pizza oven. They only serve Speight's in large bottles which suited us perfectly. The service was friendly and fast. Both indoor and outdoor seating available.

They have authentic wood fired pizza...and very yummy sandwiches. Good selection of beers and cocktails. Service was superb...made feel like we were regulars (passing thru from the USA).

Went here with a couple of friends for food and a drink. One friend got the wood fired pizza and me and another got the fish and chips. The food was so tasty and fresh and loved the homemade tomato ketchup! My friend even said it was the best fish and chips she's had in Queenstown! The staff were so... More

Gibbston Tavern was a great find. Having visited the nearby Peregrine Wines and on our way to Amisfield for lunch a visit to the tavern had been highly recommended. Food was not on our agenda but a cold drink on a warm day was. Walking into Gibbston Tavern was like taking a step back in time; we half expected New... More

Simply a great bar with simple great food. You could stay for a while and be very happy. It's a great alternative to some of the winery restaurants.
