A simple breakfast for me (sourdough toast with peanut butter) and a breakfast sandwich off the specials for my partner. Really good food - very filling!

I have never been disappointed by the food at this amazing cafe and I would have eaten there upwards of 10 times! The coffee is the best in Newcastle! The menu changes are always innovative and the ingredients they use are fresh and healthy. Only issue is service can be up and down and the queues to order do not... More

I do like the fact that this place has little to no signage and most of it's business is based on word of mouth or repeat customers. I have had breakfast and lunch here and thought they were both great. I also head there whenever I can and grab my morning Chai

Tried their cold brew coffee this time as I know there latte is already good. It was pre sweetened but still ok. A tad on the small side for the price though. We shared the chicken nachos. They were fresh and yum. We often pop in here for a coffee or snack when in Newcastle- mainly because we can sit... More

Really enjoyed the mushroom burger. I usually don't eat vegetarian options but this was so tasty I will buy again. Coffee also was good.

A couple of mates & I caught up for a coffee at One Penny Black last week & while the atmosphere of the coffee shop & the friendliness of the staff were great the coffee was very disappointing - cold & watery. I had heard good reports about this place, so I will be prepared to give it another try,... More

Up in Newy for a wedding and had brekky here with 2 other couple friends. The food here is amazing. Unique, scrummy and filling. My French Earl Grey was served already brewed so I could drink it straight away - that was a big plus in my book! We had blueberry pancakes which were fluffy, soft and delicious, the salted... More

Came here for a coffee as the hotels just wasn't good enough...finally after a few days I came in for breakfast and was impressed with my smashed avocado with feta cheese mixed into it. Served on toast with poached eggs was perfect. The cherry tomatos provided just the right amount of acid whilst the lemon juice on the rocket provide... More

Visit every so often for a coffee, always delicious. Menu reads and looks really nice and so does the food coming out.

We've been here a couple of times before and were impressed. On this occasion the food was not pleasant. I had gnocchi with basil pesto and pinenuts. The gnocchi was stogy and the sauce seemed to have a cream base opposing the tartness of the basil. I was not able to eat very much of this dish. My husband had... More
