This Vietnamese restaurant has been around for a long time in Wollongong but hasn’t changed much in decades. We ordered rice paper rolls and pork buns for entree and they were delicious. But our mains were disappointing. A chicken satay comprised a plate of precooked chicken served in a peanut sauce. Nothing fresh about it and certainly not cooked on skewers. It was also served on a metal plate with a dish of flaming methylated spirit in the centre. Very strange when the flame had nothing to do with the dish! Stir fry prawns with cashews and “Asian” greens were tasteless and served in a watery sauce. The greens were cauliflower and cabbage - nothing Asian about them. The prawn pancake was also tasteless and the accompanying salad was predictably western - carrots, cucumber and lettuce. Not even Vietnamese mint or any other flavours We ordered extra chilli but they forgot, even though there were only a handful of customers in the restaurant

Nice food, had pork spring rolls and calamari balls (not so nice, very processed) for entree. For main we had chicken with Asian greens, and the sizzling beef which were both great. So so SO noisy in the restaurant though, it was quite overwhelming so we very quickly ate most of our food and put the rest into takeaway containers and left.

Staying in Wollongong for the night we decided to try this Vietnamese restaurant as they offered so many gluten free and vegan options. The entrees, vegan pancake and rice paper rolls were delicious. They were fresh and filling and I wish we'd just ordered more starters. My main, tofu and vegetable with ginger and shallots was overcooked and completely lacked flavour. There was absolutely no ginger in the sauce what so ever. My partner ordered Bbq duck with plum sauce and reported that it was overly sweet and syrupy. It was such a disappointing ending to a meal that started so well.

Hi, had to add a comment to alert people to the terrible service I didn’t receive from the Milan-MenuLog arrangement this evening. I did an online order at 5:30pm today, still waiting on the delivery @ 8pm. Both the Mylan manager & the Menulog online chat people simply didn’t care less! That was an experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone else, hence my review. Good luck people!

By far this is my favourite restaurant. I’ve been eating here for over 15 years and still love the tofu veggies and satay with rice noodles. Their vegetable spring rolls are the nicest I’ve ever eaten and I enjoy them with a tangy Iced lemon tea. The meals have superb flavours and fragrant fresh herbs which are aromatic and add an exquisite dinning experience. Lunch time is fast paced for those wishing for a quick meal but you are never feel like you are being rushed. Night time offers a flaming satay tofu dish which adds an atmosphere of relaxed dinning and fun. Great food, value for money and reasonably priced.

As usual the food was exceptional. Can't fault the service. My partner and I are regulars. Best Vietnamese in Wollongong!

This is my first experience eating at a Vietnamese restaurant. We dined at Mylan restaurant on a Friday night, which was quickly filled by 7pm – I highly recommend to make reservations, which is what we did. Although the place is very busy, we didn’t have to wait long to be greeted by friendly staff and seated at promptly our table with bottles of water and glasses. There is a relatively large number of meals to select from their menu and yes, there are meals for vegans and dishes that are gluten free. Their prices are mid-range: Entrées from $4 to $13 and Mains from $19 to $33. I ordered ‘Spring Rolls’ for my entrée, which you get four spring rolls with a bowl of dipping sauce – the dipping sauce was bland (it had no flavour) but the spring rolls were cooked to that ‘crunchy’ perfection and the ingredients were delicious. For my main, I ordered ‘Sweet and Sour Pork’ (tomato, pineapple, cucumber, capsicum, celery and onion) at $21 – the presentation and colour of this dish looked amazing, the taste of the food was loaded with flavours and that this meal was made with fresh ingredients. One of my friends ordered ‘Fresh Rice Rolls’ as an entrée at $9 and ‘Prawn Satay’ at $25 – which the presentation looked equally amazing and I was told that it tasted very nice but the prawn satay was a little too spicy to enjoy the meal thoroughly – which he did tell staff when we left the restaurant for future patrons. The portion of our dishes were of normal size. This restaurant is clean, family friendly, very welcoming and the ambience is fun – a perfect place to catch up with friends and family. The service was quick, we didn’t have to wait too long for our meals to arrive and our meals arrived piping hot. What I was not impressed with, was that this restaurant is BYO, which I brought with me a bottle of wine – the twist top bottle. When we paid for our meals, we were charged an extra $15 for corkage ($3 per person – there were five of us), which I can’t understand how they can justify that when we didn’t need any corkage service! I’m not too sure if this is a common thing at BYO restaurants but if you brought beer, you weren’t charged extra – go figure! They have bathroom facilities available. Metered car parks are free for general public use after 5pm. A nice place to experience Vietnamese food.

This place is overrated. I've heard people talk it up however I felt like ive had much better Vietnamese food elsewhere. This place has a hefty price tag along with the food.

Very noisy venue. Staff not particularly friendly. Food isn’t spectacular. No pho on the menu. Bland rice paper rolls. Shaky beef was nice. Wait staff pass meals over the top of people’s heads. I wasn’t thrilled and I will go to Ha Long Bay at the other end of Crown street for a more authentic and friendly experience.

Three friends visited the Mylan restaurant for lunch we had been there 3 years ago,it was good then and is better now. We decided to share and had vegetarian spring rolls, cooked beef salad and chicken roti with rice. The food was delicious and the price was only $36.50 Great value Definitely going to go to the Mylan restaurant next time we visit Woolongong.
