I’ve been going to Nam’s for over 20 years and it’s my favourite restaurant in the Illawarra. The food is always great, freshly cooked very tasty and affordable. The waiters were attentive and service overall was great. The best satay and spring rolls in Wollongong. Overall always a great meal and great value and I certainly will be going back.

The owners are like family!! Love their food, their service is so beautiful, we are always so taken care of. I have been going here since I was a child with my family and now I’ve taken my boyfriend and he loves it too. Would never go anywhere else for Vietnamese. Nam is the best.

Best satay in Wollongong. You just can't beat the lunch special- good value for money and a good size serve. There's a reason this little gem has been open for over 30 years

Very disappointed in our meals here. Not representative of the light, fresh and flavoursome Vietnamese cuisine I know and love. Overwhelmingly salty. Would suggest the people who rate this place so highly travel north and try some of the Vietnamese restaurants in Sydney’s Marrickville. Also incredibly noisy with tables far too close together. Still shaking our heads in disbelief at the high ranking of this place. Never again!

Thanks NSW Dine and Discover for our free lunch at Nam. We both had a Vietnamese Vermicelli Noodle salad. Great tasting and plenty to eat. Good service and relaxed atmosphere.

This is a very popular spot, with some regulars - satisfied customers. The food is excellent, with some other Asian options on the menu. Shop is very convenient for anybody working or shopping in the centre.

Food is good, nice amount of kick to the spice and flavors. People are friendly and an easy in and out for pick up for a lunch time feast for the team. Reasonable pricing & good selection.

Good food, pleasant staff.
Their soup is excellent and for those that care they are not shy with the tendon in the Pho Dac Biet!
A soup and vietnamese iced white coffee here is the perfect hangover cure!

Very generous serving of plain rice and the satay seafood serving was small but adequate, plenty of sauce which was quite stodgy IMO. The seafood was mostly processed apart from 1 calamari and 3 prawns, vegetables were good.
When I requested a table for one the host was initially hesitant but obliged reluctantly.
The staff were very friendly with their regular guests which I think accounted for most people in the restaurant...
Very noisy small restaurant.

Book ahead! You have been warned! Very popular and hard to get into due to its popularity
Where do you start? Firstly, the menu is mind boggling, so much choice and variation.
We went with the DIY Tả Pín Lù which was great, kids were amused about how rice paper worked, and the Steam Boat.
Look.....get a Steam Boat.....just an amazing concept. Family of four got a medium with rice and were full.
Staff are great and the owner is a blast!
When you leave, there is none of that "fatty" after taste you get at some asian restaraunts. In fact it would have had to be one of the healthiest meals I'd had all week.

My partner and I are return customers to Nam Restaurant and we were disappointed with the standard of food served this time around.
We had stuffed chicken wings for entree - the two fairly large wings served were tasty but dry and needed more than the little dibble of sauce on top.
For mains we had :-
1. Chilli beef which comprised of tender strips of chilli beef on top of a bed of lettuce. The meal size was reasonable and tasty .
2. Satay chicken - this dish had minimal ? processed slices of chicken which was drowned to the max in a thick satay sauce. There was so much sauce that it was hard to find the chicken pieces . It was not appealing to the eye or taste buds.
The serve was quick . The tap water was warm and the staff did not make any effort to engage with their customers.
Won't go back again

The food is amazing. Everything tastes so fresh. Recommended dishes are Steam Boat and any Satay dish. The chicken and prawn salad is also great and recommended for a starter. Its also great value and you can get a good feed at a very good price.
