Recently tried the BBQ Pork Bahn Mi and can't get enough of it. Beautiful fresh roll, the BBQ Pork (like a sliced sausage) is tasty and the salads are very fresh too.
Not usually a fan of chili - but they put just the right amount on to not overpower. At $8.10 paid on card, it's very decently priced too, and fills you right up!
Highly recommend!

This is a good place for lunch. It offers Saigon-style sandwiches of various kinds. Our recommendation is the crispy pork banh mi with chilli. It is a bit pricey at $10.50 but it is worth it for the occasional treat.

Fast, fresh and tasty, friendly staff and magnificent rice paper rolls and Bahn Mi. The five spiced pork crackling is simply amazing. One of our favourite lunch spots, do yourself a favour and give them a try.

I had a delicious lemongrass tofu Banh Mi and shared some tasty vegetarian spring rolls. Great food and very popular at lunchtime so you may have to wait a little while for your order.

Came here for lunch last Sunday around 12.30pm. It’s not a big place but enough to fit about 8-10 small tables. It’s not conducive for a large group, and most people I observed order take away bahn mis.
We dined in and ordered at the counter. I had the beef pho. The soup is quite tasty, probably not as amazing as the ones I had in Vietnam but still pretty good! I wished there was more rare beef pieces in my soup but for $10.90 I can’t complain! The side dish served with pho only had bean sprouts, with no mint leaves or cut chilli. That would have elevated the dish significantly.
My friend and her son ordered combination vermicelli salad and the 5 spice pork on rice. They enjoyed both dishes. I had a bite of the pork and it was melt in the mouth delicious. The pork crackling was good but could have been better (this is comparing it with the amazing pork crackling I had at the newly opened Bavarian just around the corner).
There wasn’t a drinks menu but when asked, they did have Vietnamese coffee! I asked if it was the condensed milk version and the waiter at the ordering counter said yes. I was expecting a hot drink but the iced version was made. I wasn’t clear when ordering but I totally enjoyed the ice coffee - strong yet sweet all at the same time.
Note that there is no table service. You order at the counter, and pick up your food from the same spot. There was a constant stream of people ordering at the counter (both dine in and take away) that there was hardly time for any of the staff to clear or wipe down tables.
Overall we had an enjoyable time. Prices are very reasonable and I would definitely return to try other dishes.

It never ceases to amaze me the line out the front of this little shop every lunchtime. That speaks volumes. Beautiful fresh food made to order and reasonably priced.

For a quick lunch meal we chose this place as had been wanting to come here for a while. Hubby ordered the beef pho soup and I ordered a soy chicken vermicelli salad. At $10.90 each meal prices are very reasonable. My husband loved his pho soup. My salad was ok but I would not order it again. It lacked flavour and the chicken was not that tasty. Also we ordered the meals to eat in and they were served in plastic take away bowls which I feel is not very environmentally friendly. Overall I would go back but would not order the salad again

If you enjoy a tradition Vietnamese roll with fresh ingredients you can't go past the rolls here at Saigon Senses. The bbq pork and crackling pork are beautiful. I'd you like a hit of chilli the question is asked on every order. We eat here regularly.

Had my first Aussie Bahn My after a recent trip to Vietnam. Had the BBQ Pork and it was awesome. Good hit of chilli too. I'll be back for another option. Yummo.

This place has become our go to place for Bahn Mi rolls in Wollongong.
The five spiced pork crackling rolls are the best we have ever tasted!!
Seriously, do yourself a favour and try this place!!
I also had the Vermicelli salad and it was great as well.
Looking forward to our next Sunday lunchtime visit and the great taste of these rolls.

Since the new mall opened the restaurant re-located from near Kentucky in the old part of the mall. Great move and a much better name. The food is fresh, tasty and vietnamese. I like the vermicelli noodle salad and the banh mi is also a favourite. A little more expensive than some but still good considering the position of the restaurant. There are tables and chairs in there as well as take-away.

My first time but taken by a regular. Pork belly on a roll was great. Fresh grated veges, chilli and coriander made it crunchy and satisfying. Definitely will stop in if I am near and if the queue isn’t too long.

I am not one to make negative reviews, I try and write constructive reviews should I not been happy with hotels, restaurants and so on. But I feel that I need to raise this so other families who have children with severe food allergies learn from our experience today.
We come to Saigon Senses each time we crave for Vietnamese food. Foods on the menu are always filling and tasty and with this said, happy to recommend. We have followed this once a small take-away to now a sit in casual restaurant from when they were still in the older part of Wollongong Mall and we very happy with their success of having moved to Wollongong Central.
However, today we have had a different experience. One of the kids I had with me was severely allergic to peanuts and yes the vermicelli salad is always garnished with peanuts, but this was the first time she ordered it and she acknowledged that she didn't ask whether it had nuts or none.
When the salad was served and she noticed the overflowing nuts she politely raised it and asked if it could be changed and apologised for not double checking. In return the lady on the register was rude enough to raise her voice to her and told her that she should have known that nuts comes with this dish and should have told them when she made the order. They took the salad back, didn't make her a fresh one considering she said she is highly allergic to nuts, they just picked them out one by one and not even all of it and returned to her.
For an adult to raise her voice to a 13 year old girl who to begin with- politely apologised for an honest mistake, was in return left feeling very humiliated (it was lunch rush hour so the line was long). And for this modern age that health/ awareness to food allergies are huge, it was not even entertained. It could have been approached in a different way by the "lady" staff but rather expressed rudeness and unprofessionalism.
Let the man (who has been there for years) do all the customer liaising. He knows what customer service is all about!
I am very truly disappointed.

Thank you for taking your time to provide us with helpful feedback.
I am the owner of the establishment and on behalf of my staff, I apologise for any offense, I train my staff to provide the best service as well as providing great quality food. But unfortunately, sometimes this does not always go as well as I like.
I was informed of this issue the next day when I came in. Obviously if my staff was rude or offensive then they are entirely in the wrong and I have spoken with them and I hope it this type of misunderstanding never happens again.
In relations to the salad not being replaced, they told me they made a new one. If they did not then I once again I can only apologise for their lack of service as I was not there.
Please be aware that it is the responsibility of the customer to notify the staff of any allergies prior to ordering, we do have a sign placed at the ordering counter in order to not have this type of issues. If the customer is not competent enough to make the order then it is probably best to have an adult make the order. In saying that, my staff should have been more accommodating and provided you with a new salad (according to them, they did make a new one) and also to not act in an unprofessional manner.
Once again, my apologies for any offense that was taken and I will continue to train my staff to act in a more professional manner.
Thank you very much for raising this issue and I am glad your review was honest enough to say that we do provide good quality food, but some times staff member may lack customer service skill which we are constantly working to improve, thanks to reviews such as this.

I frequently buy lunch from Saigon Senses. All items on their menu are reasonably priced. Highlights include the crackling pork roll and chicken pho. Do yourself a favour and stop in for lunch!
