This place is objectively terrible. I would never tell anyone to go and eat here now, yeah it was ok in like 2015, but now? We'll this is the most disappointing meal I've had since the last time I ate at white china. I'm not...usually someone who leaves reviews, but I would feel terrible not to warn people away from this. I'm convinced the only people who actually enjoy this places food these days are the type of people who either don't know any better, or have had enough cumulative brain damage over their lives as to have lost most of their sense of taste and smell.
Service was sub par as well. We had to wait a long time for our food, and it wasn't a busy night. Yes you can argue the decor or atmosphere or whatever, but the food and the prices were an absolute joke. The servings are small, and the food is bland.
Now I don't mean "not spicy'. I mean, no flavor. The little prawns in the Singapore noodles taste like the water they were defrosted in. The noodles in the soup just taste like instant ramen without the flavor power thrown in. The prawn toast is just overcooked junk. "broth" in the soup just tastes like about 1L of water with maybe a teaspoon of stock power.
The pricing. A $20 soup gets you: about 2 dried bricks of ramen noodles. About 1L of water with maybe a level teaspoon of stock power in it. Four thin slices of oriental style pork, the one you get in the deli counter at coles. Four wontons, very small cheap ones with nearly no filling. Half a baby bok-choy, and maybe 6 little bits of spring onion.
Our meal was 2 mains, and a entree, we got charged about $60. Would have got 'maybe' 200g of meat combined in both meals. They were bulked out with a fair amount of noodles, which wouldn't have been a problem, except the noodles were the quality of your bargain basement 2min noodles, but served without the power sachet, not added flavor to speak of, just bland and waxy. If I'm gonna get served 2 min ramen at least give me the sachet if your not gonna give me a proper soup, not just water.
If I were the chef or the owner, I would have been embarrassed to serve up the meal we were given. I would hazard a guess that any other Chinese takeaway in town will run circles around this junk, and cost way less.
You want some Chinese? Unless your the type of person who see's Maggi 2 minute noodles and a can of coke as fine dining, you go walk into the greasiest rundown joint you can find in town and it will be better than this trash.More
