We ordered and asked if it was possible to be served quickly as we had an appointment. The young waiter said he would speak to they chef, and we were amazed that we had barely poured our drinks when our delicious prawn omelette arrived with bowl of sticky rice. Soon the sate octupus was on our table and within thirty... More

We visited there for family dinner. The restaurant is run by Chinese people who don't know about Japanese food much. There are not many selection of Japanese food. it's more like Chinese food. I ordered "Katsu Don" it's usually in the deep bowl not like a soup bowl. "Don" means "Donburi" which can hold rice and toppings or soup noodles.... More

I orders the banquet (I.e. "Unlimited" sushi plz a few sides). When I can to order my second serve of sushi the lady asked me "are you sure you can eat all that, it's a big meal"? Now I was stunned. Had no idea what to say but now I regret not taking a stance... They call it a banquet... More

Stumbled across this little restaurant with little expectation. Hey it was very nice, bento box was well made, stocked Japanese delights was a real treat. The bottom line here is the guy behind the stove is demonstrating real care with his food. $52 for two with drinks, as Gordon Ramsey says "incredible"

the food offerings were fairly standard for a small cafe of this type but the prices were very cheap. I expected to pay about $20 for 2 people but the bill came to $8. They even accepted my edine card for a further discount which made me feel like I was gouging

Undoubtedly the worst sushi I've ever had. Hard rice, sour tasting salmon. My family were all starving and love sushi...but literally couldn't eat it. The 4 bucks a piece is steep for a sushi roll, but id be happy to pay that for good, fresh sushi..what I got today was rubish! It tasted like it was from the back of the... More

Wan is gone, replaced by the same owners' cut-price takeaway offering. Sadly, the care and attention once lavished on the food is gone as well. Two visits in the last week - and both were unacceptable. Dining in is now a matter of eating from a cardboard container, and the sushi (takeaway) was neither fresh nor edible. As Wan was... More

This place used to be WAN a Japanese restaurant that doubled as a sushi bar during the day. WAN was run by the same people who own all the bento box places around town. You can still get a few extras not on others bento boxes menus but the menu is very streamlined for a more casual dining after as... More

I was looking for a Japanese restaurant for our one night in Launceston and came up with this little gem with the help of Trip Advisor. Don't be put off by the rather uninspiring interior, the food was fabulous (spicy tuna and garlic scallops were great) and the prices are hard to believe. I don't quite know why rhe saki... More
