After a long day out, Wangs was a great place to grab a very tasty meal! Service was attentive and friendly! Explaining detail and dishes. Food came quickly, hot and full of flavour! Wine was inexpensive and produced locally! A great meal after a very...busy day😍More

This was not our first visit to Wang's - we've been a couple of times before. We have always found the service to be excellent and the food to be spot on. (We recommend the salt and pepper squid, which has been a highlight of...our meal every visit.)More

The service was prompt and service of our meals was quick. We ordered the couples banquet which provided us with plenty of food. Soup, entree, mains. Dessert.

We loved the Stir Fried Shredded Duck with Bean Shoot and the Pork Spare Rib with Peking Sauce; they were flavourful and plentiful. The service was efficient and friendly. The restaurant is handily located in the city centre.

Paid $80 for below average food. Had lemon chicken that I could have done twice as well at home (looked like honey chicken and the waiter called it that before we double checked). Singapore noodles had too finely diced meat that was unidentifiable...no bean sprouts,...no prawns and way too much cabbage. Vege spring rolls were tasteless. How did this place ever get a rating over 4.0?More

A bottle of water was brought to the table promptly, together with Menus. Our order taken. Sang Choy Bao was 😊 delightful, even if awkward to eat - generous meat in small pieces of Iceberg lettuce leaf. A large leaf would have made it easier...to wrap the meat. It was delicious! Mongolian Lamb was also delightful - tasty, hot and with vegetables as well. Jasmine tea was good and complemented the food. Steamed rice was good - to tone the heat of the delicious lamb meal. Steamed vegetables were splendidly cooked and supplemented our meal. Most pleasant, satisfying meal.More

We arrived at 6.30pm on Saturday evening. Looked at the menu and asked the waiter after 5 minutes or so if they'd take our order. At 6.50pm they managed our entree, Sichuan dumplings which were gluey and beef soup which very definitely was below par....7.35pm the main courses finally arrived. The braised garlic prawns and Sichuan squid was amateurish at best. The "special" fried rice was, well, no surprises here, particularly average with the smallest pieces of egg and ham I've ever seen. At no time were we asked if we would like a drink. The restaurant was not full, in fact we were seated at a table which had a reserved plaque on it which was briskly removed. I now can guess why. We would never go there again, nor should you!More

I avoid social media and reviews, but I cannot let this go. The entire dining experience was nothing but a disaster.. Last scraping from a day-old bain marie, may have been more enjoyable. Our two-course dinner represented nothing authentic towards Chinese cuisine. We paid reasonable...money only to have the evening derailed. The dim-sum raw and waterlogged. The curry puffs - packaged. Crispy sweet and sour pork - representing a soft kitchen sponge and Chicken Kung Po - unrecognisable. Rather concerning when Launceston recently received recognition - UNESCO names Tasmania's Launceston a City of Gastronomy.More

this was the most awful Chinese food ever with the most unenthusiastic staff. We were in Launceston for the Australian Musical Theatre Festival and after a long day of events decided we wanted Chinese food. we had dumplings and curry puffs to start. the dumplings...were tasteless and not cooked properly so the pastry was tough and glue like. The curry puffs were ok but nothing special. The main courses....the kung po chicken was like no other, didn't taste like kung po., and it would have been impossible to identify the meat as chicken. The Crispy Sweet and sour pork, was in fact the soggiest lumps of hard to chew pork with almost no sauce. The special fired rice was tasteless and would have been better served as steamed rice. All in all, we were starving and tired so ate some and left most and went home wondering how these staples of Australian Chinese for good be so wrong.More

Fabulous find, great food, good service too. We had the couple's banquet and everything was FAB. Started with the chicken and corn soup and finished with the deep fried ice cream.

This restaurant is tucked away behind a large tree & could easily be missed. We were happy with our meals. The Satay Beef was full of flavour & the beef was very tender. The Special Fried Rice was one of the best we have had...in a long time. Would definitely return.More

We Visited with two teen children while on family holiday. Quite surprised by the prices. Very expensive compared to other good Chinese we normally frequent. $18 for large fried rice and $27 or $28 for a main dish. Quality was ok, but have had better....I wouldn’t go back.More

Hi, we do use msg in some of our home-made sauces, but if customer request, we can do most of our dishes without msg, or we can use chicken stock instead of msg. Thanks.
