So, opted to head up to Ballarat for the day from Melbourne, started early and thought I'd grab a bite once there. Glad I did. Headed up Sturt and noticed L'Espresso, all the locals appeared to be sitting out the front or inside in the cosy warmth of the place - French bistro appearance :) Jazz CDs on the wall,... More

A quaint and busy little cafe. Fantastic Vittoria latte and flat white made promptly by a cheerful and happy barista. Morning caffeine fix - tick! Highly recommended.

Whilst not a favourite with my kids for some reason, I always enjoy a coffee and either breakfast, brunch, lunch or cake at L'Espresso. Much of the charm of this place is in the Melbourne-like atmosphere. The food and coffee are great (especially when they get the bacon just right!) but not amazing. Rather it is the overall experience and... More

A half way stop for a stretch and breakfast led us to L'Espresso. We had tried in the past as it has been usually very busy. This time we were lucky enough to get a table straight away. The service was quick, efficient and unobtrusive. The order was taken and food arrived quickly. Eggs Benedict and eggs and bacon were... More

As a regular at Le espresso for breakfast and lunch I love the coffee the food is fresh and delicious. There is an extensive wine list of wine by the bottle which we always indulge in on Saturday lunch. The staff are so friendly and know everyone by name. Nothing better than sitting outside and watching the world go by.

This place has the best of everything. The lunch food is outstanding and the coffee and cake as good as I have had anywhere. The decor is dark but quirky. Well worth a visit if in Ballarat

L'espresso has always been one of those cafes that I 'forget' about when thinking of somewhere to go to eat at. After receiving a voucher as a gift for Christmas it was an opportunity to experience what we've labelled as one of our most enjoyed, and more importantly - one of the best meals we've ever had! We booked a... More

We enjoyed lovely coffee and a wonderful selection of cheeses. It is a cool interesting café and seemed very popular. Coffee was awesome.

Ordered a latte and the spicy baked eggs for breakfast. The latte came out luke warm. Baked eggs were only just cooked and the tomato sauce literally had only one slice of istra chorizo in it. I mentioned it was 'light on' for $18. I was brought out more tomato sauce with chorizo to compensate, but whole meal was lackluster!
