Just called in to play pokies and have a few drinks. Really cheap drinks and great service by the staff.

We ask them to deliver our meal to our motel unit, which they did for a very reasonable fee of $6. We ordered two Steak meals @ $35 each plus sides. We were delighted with the quality of the dish. Wish we lived closer so we could enjoy more meals of this quality. Well worth the money.

On Friday and Saturday nights. Had a pleasant dinner earlier in the evening. I had the Steak (medium rare) spot on! My wife had the fettuccini as their had run out of the 'Famous Harry's Bangers', shame. Maybe next time?

The atmosphere was good. I enjoyed food. My view is it has been taken over by new management much better then before.

We went back to this restaurant as Anne answered my review very favourably. We are early diners and went tonight after talking to Anne. To say we were both impressed was quite an understatement and what a change overall. My fish was hot and stayed hot throughout the meal and I can't remember that ever happening before. George had steak... More

Good morning Joan, I am thrilled you gave us the opportunity to redeem ourselves, and that you and George enjoyed your meals. It is always disappointing for everyone, when we fall short of expectations, I am grateful you gave us the opportunity to 'put it right'. Look forward to seeing you in Roma. Cheers Anne More

Me and a friend went to the Grand on a Wednesday night.Outrageous amounts of food was brought to our table until we couldn't eat any more, this alone would have been balmy but the fact the staff were so friendly and welcoming made the novel experience that much better. Too full to move for $20 and be looked after by... More

Went with a bunch of mates after hearing about the all you can eat ribs, wings and chips. At $20, the offer was too good to resist! Of course, at that price, expectations cannot be set high prematurely. We were all pleasantly surprised at how good the meal was, with all that was served to us cooked very well. Over... More

I have been to the Grand several times over the last couple of years and love what it has become. There have been big changes, making the space inside a lot bigger and brighter and a change of management and staff. As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. I have been to a couple of... More

Got to the place simply because it is situated… very central in Palmerston North. Voucher too… Walked in… nothing flash, a bit too gloomy & murky atmosphere but I got over it with the gorgeous smile of the waitress. I love steak and I reckon a scotch fillet is one of the tests any “chef” should be able to pass... More

Chris C, Your response shocks me, although it shouldn’t really; People like you should not eat out, you being banned from ‘Treat Me’ reflects this. You were the gentleman that abused our staff over your voucher, you reduced them to tears, your language was foul as was your attitude. You repeated this tirade when I spoke to you, whilst your... Hi Joan I have only just been able to view your review, and am very disappointed, we failed to ensure your food was to the standard expected. I would like to put this right, If I may. We now have a new team in the kitchen, as well as new wait staff, and Bar Manager at The Grand. I would... More
