I was a tad unsure of this place due to surroundings but the food was great. The new operators are making this place somewhere to get a good easy feed.

The bar staff sat behind the bar playing on their phones. No interaction with customers at all. They didn't care we were there or not. A simple smile wouldn't have gone astray. Wouldn't waste my time walking in the door again.

First time in for a while and what a great new menu. Delicious food and good size portions. Best seafood chowder I have had in a long time. Look forward to coming back.

Wow this place is interesting. I came by several times for happy hour and the excellent free WIFI. I had a good chicken sandwich too. But it wasn't very crowded. Then I went back late on a Friday or Saturday night (I don't remember which) and it was a club! PACKED with people of various ages and levels of sobriety.... More

Our group found it a well positioned meeting point for convenience to shops etc but the orders did take a while to arrive. The fish of the day wasn't the best choice as it was dry and overcooked but the hamburgers with salad made up for it. However the cold chips let things down a bit. Maybe if the plates... More

We were lucky to call in on the two for one day. Both selected the mixed grill with salad and chips. Served on a volcanic hot stone, four portions of chicken , three of steak and three of lamb. On arrival all sizzling, eat a few chips first whilst the meat cooks to your requirements. The two for one choice... More

I don't enjoy having to go up to the bar to tell them I 'm ready to order when the wait staff have been hiding elsewhere too long. The steak meal was fine, after they offered me someone else's order. The decor is very dark and strange - early American Indian crossed with pioneer.

This is a "street mall" type central location in Whangarei but saved by good music, a pool table and one of the best steaks I've had. The steak is served on a rock base which has been heated for over 24 hours so the meat cooks on your plate and you get to watch it prepare to your liking. If... More

We stopped here on a wednesday night - their 'specials' night (we didn't realise this as visitors to Whangarei) - without a reservation. The staff were very quick to find us a table, and explain the evening specials. Service was fantastic, the stone grill meals were yummy. Will definitely be back here!
