We had crayfish and battered fish. The crayfish was really fresh and cooked perfectly, the flesh was tender and NOT over cooked or rubbery. We had a wonderful meal. The battered fish was also very tasty, the fish was again done right, NOT over cooked....More

We stopped at Nin's Bin on the Kaikoura coast two days after the coast road re-opened. We had enjoyed Kaikoura crayfish on our honeymoon fifty years ago so were keen to relive the memory. We chose a "likely" candidate, had it prepared and ate it...More

What a location. What great food. What an experience. You simply must visit Nin's Bin and try one of their delish crayfish if you're traveling down the east coast of New Zealand's south island. Don't miss out!

After passing Nin's Bin I thought the only right thing to do would be to try a local cray. The lobster was nicely cooked and tasted pretty good. Also a Nice, informal location to sit at the picnic table overlooking the water. It's a bit...More

The crayfish is so fresh! Although it is a little pricey, but it is really good. My boyfriend and I shared one crayfish and it is enough if you take a moderate size.

If travelling from Kaikoura, Nin's Bin is just a few miles on the right. You can have a whitebait sandwich (not like UK whitebait ... more like tiny white eels) or buy cooked lobster to take away. It is served by a delightful young lady...More

We all know Kaikoura is famous for its crayfish, but the locals recommended this place particularly. You can see it on the way to Ohau Seal Lookout Point, it's right beside the road with a large sign. It's no fancy restaurant, just a campervan like...More

Nins Bin was first estabilished in November 1977 as a roadside caravan selling fresh local crayfish. Still to this day it offers just that, right next to the beach for an ulitmate New Zealand experience.Only a 20minute drive north of the Kaikoura Township, it is a perfect stop off point to either dine in or take a crayfish away for your enjoyment later on!
