Being a local - I've actually avoided the CBH for some months now - but ended up there yesterday for lunch. Pleasant surprise! The renovations were quite nice - very "Hamptons" in my opinion - white washed tables and chairs, foods trucks, ample seating and shelter from hot sun or rain. The new menu has a large selection and the... More

Fish and chips I can recommend. Staff friendly but delivery of meals a bit adrift.2 of our meals arrived together but the other three were about 15mins later. Wine very expensive, cheapest bottle about $35.Never got to have a beer,so I can't comment on those prices.Eating area is fairly large. Located in a great position across the road from the beach... The meals have certainly improved since that last time I dined here. Over this summer I've tried their flathead & chips; pork cutlet; schnitzel & pizza which were very tasty, prepared nicely and with generous serving. Yes, the Pav down the road offers higher quality meals for only a little more in price but I really enjoy the atmosphere in... More

Warm oysters??? And no compensation, except for a meal replacement which was (photographed) beetroot and goats cheese salad on old ice berg. Mezze plate for $25, 3 dips that are equivalent to Coles brand. They take no pride in what they are doing unless its masked by the deep fryer. It's just as expensive as coogee pavilion and now that... More

About 12 months ago the food at the CBH was genuinely inedible. This was so disappointing as the beer garden, I mean the whole venue has such a great outlook in such a great location! It was so disappointing that we avoided the place like the plague even for drinks, because there just wasn't even the option to have a... More

Me and a very good friend visited our local Coogee Bay hotel pleasantly suprised they had summer time pop up food stalls, West coast fish and the Garden Kebab shop. Me and a friend ordered from the bar where we was instructed to collect our food in 18minutes from the Garden kebab shop, upon arrival we noticed food sitting on... More

Staying in Coogee

Neighbourhood Profile
Coogee
Very accessible by public transport, Coogee is the smaller, friendlier, more intimate version of Bondi Beach. Coogee is the only beach in the Eastern suburbs that does not have big waves, making it an excellent family beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel, located right across the beach, has one of the biggest beer gardens in Australia and plenty of entertainment every night of the week. Be on the lookout for celebrity footballers! A little further south is Wylie’s Baths, offering sweeping 180 degree views over the Pacific Ocean, and it is perfect for a swim or a few laps. Plenty of dining choices surround the beach, including the famous fish and chips.
