Visited this Pub while on vacation. Not from the Woodstock area and choose this establishment based on the reviews. It is a nicely decorated bar, friendly servers, very crowded and extremely busy. We ordered two traditional pub meals and both dishes were very disappointing. We had the Cottage Pie and Shepherds Pie and both had more mashed potatoes than meat.... More

Its a decent place, I'd go back. Request a booth though because it gets crowded in the aisles at times.

It's a very busy place, so, be prepared for a little wait to be seated. Once seated though the draft beer selection is excellent and if you like traditional English foods you won't be disappointed (bangers & mash, Yorkshire pudding, Chicken Pot Pie). The atmosphere is great but as with any pub it can get noisy.

Visiting relatives in area and met here for supper. Fish and chips were 2 for 1 and meal for two was economical with huge servings. Food was good and service was good. Noisy atmosphere but was Ok with us as our group added to it. Good place to enjoy a casual relax evening.

Visited on wing night. We were looking for flavours that weren't on the menu. Our waitress asked the cook if he could do the flavours we wanted and he said sure, he had the sauces we wanted. Wings were good, not covered in loads of batter like some places. Some good beers on tap. Our waitress was super friendly.

Met a good friend for dinner here and found that they had an excellent selection of draft beers. The choices were many and we settled on the special for the day. Ribs and Wings . Very generous portions and the service very good.

Our monthly car club meeting took us to Woodstock and at someone's suggestion, we ended up at Charles Dickens Pub. We had made reservations, so getting seated was not a problem. It took nearly 40 minutes for a waiter to come and get drink orders. Another 30 minutes before the food orders were taken. Normally, for us, this isn't a... More

Woodstock has taken some knocks over the years, and there are lots of for-lease/sale signs along its delightful high street, but the Charles Dickens pub was a wonderful fine: delicious food, excellent and friendly service, and some very happy customers. Thank you! We'll be back...

It was a Saturday night and the pub was busy, We drank a pint while we waited at the bar. There is a large selection of beer. We both had the soup of the day (roasted red pepper with coconut) which was delicious. I had a chicken club on rye with cheese from a local cheesemaker (Gunn's hill Cheese). It... More

We eat here often. There are good reasons whey this restaurant is so popular. Excellent food, British beers, and even UK football on the TV Sunday am. The Charles Dickens seems a regular place for Brit expats who cheer on their teams Sunday mornings. Attentive, kind, and prompt staff, and the owners will come over to your table and chat... More
