After booking in at the Chevington end guest house a trip to the pub for a meal was called for at the Chevin Inn.Staff were friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Both starter and main courses arrived quickly (not at the same time) both were tasty and well presented. Unfortunately as often happens we couldn't find any room for 🍰... More

Enjoyed a quiet drink in here on Friday night. Lovely surroundings and I imagine it's great to sit out on an evening in Summer. Slightly pricier than most other places in the area, but worth it for a great g&t!

My friend a localish lady recommend us to have lunch here. In fact we were so impressed we went twice in 5 days. The food was excellent, just one mini gripe on the Monday visit, less than half the sweet menue was available, very nearly didnt gave 5 stars but the rest of the food and the attentive staff over... My son and his partner were going to the Chevin for lunch and taking their baby son. I decided to muscle in and take a friend who was keen to meet the new addition. We didn't make a booking for a Thursday at 1pm - which was silly as it was packed!!! However the very helpful staff said a booking... More

We had never heard of this place but it was a convenient spot to meet up halfway with relatives from the North East and found it by an internet search. We reserved the table with panoramic views the day before our planned meet-up. I expected it to be impressive, (from the website) but it exceeded my expectations. Stunning location with... More

Booked a table online for 8 people. Received a phone call to confirm. Arrived early to find the table ready for us. Our group ranged in age and all managed to find a choice to eat from the menu. Food took a while to arrive after ordering, however I understand the challenge of trying to prepare meals for eight people... More

We rang at the last minute and as usual, the staff squeezed us in. The place was empty as we arrived as it was just midday! By the time we left it was packed. As always the food was excellent. Great chef I think. Lovely roast beef, chicken and vegetables. Good gravy! The chocolate roulade was really good. Service excellent,... More

We called for lunch having been recommended to visit. We were greeted warmly and shown to a table. The staff are most pleasant and helpful too. Orders for food and drinks are taken at the table. Good choices of food and at reasonable prices, both at lunch time and at night. Food is locally sourced and cooked to order, so... More

I have eaten here many times and generally it is good. Unfortunately on my last visit I was disappointed. The service was unusually slow. There was not a full choice on the menu and the main which was mainly meat dishes was tough and dry. The starters were ok. This will not stop me going here as I like the... More
