This is definitely a pub to avoid. The staff and owner are not very welcoming and the clientele unattractive. The house wine is poor quality and expensive

We thought that Gordon's Kitchen Nightmares must have been filming here. Our party of 9 did not eat at the same time, the food was awful and I don't think anyone got exactly what they ordered. The staff had a fight and the waitress was...More

Very ordinary experience. Didn't look clean. The dog dirt on the floor of the dining room did not help our appetite.

Not sure who does the cooking but definitely not a chef or maybe he was off for the night. Starters were unimaginative, badly presented and overcooked. Lamb rump was low quality and mostly gristle, mustard mash dried out and reheated and all thrown on a...More

My elderly companion has been a regular yearly visitor to the Oak. Last year was the first time I made the trip with him. New people had just taken over and were just settling in but they made us feel very welcome. Our room couldn't...More
