Called in for a drink, intending to stay for an evening, yet the barmaid couldn't give us any bread to have with our olives because it meant "wasting a whole baguette ". I asked her to possibly review this decision as clearly it was mad....More
We are sorry to hear about your recent bread and olive scenario but as we take all feedback seriously, we have discussed the appropriate path to take, should this ever re-occur.
May I say in all the "Joints in all the Places" this is one of the best. Over the last year I have visited this restaurant several times. It's consistent . Excellent food, most pleasing staff, and the ambience is perfect. Must book, but when...More

A well run village pub with good food. It is clean and appealing, with plenty of seating outside at the front (sloping somewhat!). Recommended, and well worth a visit, for food, or drink, or both!
Thank you for the lovely review. We do try to run a good pub, and we are pleased that you found us to be clean and appealing with good food. The team will be delighted with your comments.
Enjoyed a lovely summers afternoon at the pub. Family and dog friendly. It was popular so finding 2 tables together was a struggle so I would recommend phoning ahead. Food was good. Good quality of beer. All round a nice summers afternoon.
We are delighted to hear that you and your dog enjoyed the afternoon with us - especially our good quality real ales and food! We look forward to welcoming you all back in the near future.
This pub is delightful with lots of character but that's where it ends. It's wonderfully and very conveniently situated on the Rutland Water cycle track and very inviting when you're on the Rutland circuit, however, the staff are miserable and the food is amateur. The...More

Booked a table for two on a Thursday evening, the pub was not busy, we ate inside away from the smokers. Helpful pleasant bar and restaurant staff, the service was pleasant and quick, a good selection of real ale and keg fiz. I had baked...More
Thank you so much for the excellent review. It was a pleasure to serve you both and I am so pleased you enjoyed our Gorgonzola Mushrooms, Gammon and Scampi. I look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.
Stopped here during the circuit of Rutland. Was very busy so was happily surprised when the food was served 15min after ordering.
Thank you for the review. We are delighted to exceed your expectations, by serving your food promptly, even when we were busy. We hope you enjoyed your circuit of the water and hope to welcome you back very soon.
