On our last afternoon wandering round, we wanted somewhere nice to have a lunch! Judging by the look of it we thought it was way too expensive. We couldn't be more wrong. The atmosphere was so relaxed and we were made to feel very welcome. We ordered our food, which was amazing, had alcoholic drinks and the best desserts ever... More

The café is out of this world: so ample, so splendiferous, so airy, so bright--art déco at its best. No waiting to order and get served--very polite waiters & waitresses, tempting cakes, horrible tea though. Don't expect bright young things among the patrons (the average age is in the lower 80s) but the architecture all by itself is worth a... More

we were there at our last evening in Prague for dinner, because we wanted to see the Art Nouveau interior. The service was professional and touristic oriented but without the geniality we have loved at other restaurants. The meal was ok but not good and not typical czech and compared with the meals we have had the evenings before it... More

Called in here after the theatre for a night cap and cake, after it was recommended by a friend. It was nearly empty, but we sat down, and a staff member walked past and wished us good evening. Then we sat there, and we sat there. Eventually the waitress began to take the order from a couple on the next... More

Opulence is not a word enough to describe the experience of having a snack in this Kavarna (cafe). With the crystal chandeliers above you the place is beautiful. Its a must visit for the wow factor itself. The food is a nice addition and cakes look fabulous riding around on a separate trolley ready for you to get a taste... More

There is the rather clunky website for this place showing some of the very attractive surroundings in which you will find yourself. This is lighter and more airy than the downstairs restaurant, function room and cocktail bar. A 'French' restaurant on the other side of the entrance hall to the historic building offers more lavish food at higher prices. Enjoy... More

All we wanted was a quick cup of tea, and what we got was Art Deco to the highest level. I felt like I should have worn a DJ with spats on my shoes and my wife her twenties flapper dress. What a palace of yesterday. The waiter wandering about with the cake trolly, someone catches his eye and he... More

I visited the coffee restaurant with two foreign couples. The restaurant set up and decoration is stunning, beautiful and most impressive. Probably the best coffee restaurant space in Prague. Shame that the service and coffee quality was not up to the same level. The service was fast but just standard, rather cool than friendly, not a trace of smile. My... More

It was a recommendation in my guide book to go for a coffee here. This places oozes elegances. Very impressive interior to the cafe with its tall ceilings and huge chandeliers. The waiting staff are extremely attentive and service is very prompt with plenty of staff on hand. Coffees/teas were excellent but best of all was the cake trolley which... More

This is coffee bar with genius loci. This kind of place remind me long history and old good times :) Service is on top level and it is wonderfull to hear live piano here. Cakes were good but not perfect, I think that it is small thing to improve.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
