A very solid experience. While not 'exciting,' food nonetheless made for a fun experience. We did the larger tasting menu plus wine pairings. Some courses were wonderful, others somewhat flat in comparison. Service was always impeccable as was the right amount of intervention by servers. Staff was kind without being obsequious. We recommend but don't expect to go home raving.

La Degustation’s Michelin star raises expectations that may not be met for guests who are familiar with restaurants at this tier elsewhere. Tasting menu flavours were pleasant but rather one-dimensional. We appreciated the selection of exclusively Czech wines for the pairings, including some delightful finds such as the Richard Stávek Ryšák 2014, a rosé with hints of pink peppercorn. However,... I really liked this restaurant, although other members of our small party of four were less enthused. It is a stylish restaurant in the Old Town that offers modern Czech cuisine at Michelin star standard. The kitchen is within the restaurant and was a picture of calm efficiency. There are only two decisions to be made: 6 or 11 course... More

So here's the thing. We had planned for a night at Le Manoir near Oxford which is still on the bucket list. But for the same price you can fly to Prague, stay 3 or 4 nights in a top class hotel in the old city, and spend your final night enjoying a meal at the Michelin starred La Degustation.... More

We managed to get a reservation here fairly last minute after having had it recommended by Jan on the Taste of Prague Tour. The whole evening was absolutely wonderful. The restaurant is small and only seats 40 which makes it very intimate and a wonderful cosy ambiance. We had the 6 course tasting menu with paired wines for 3 and... More

We ordered the 11 course tasting menu with wine pairing. It was a lot but every single dish and wine were perfect. The service was impeccable and our wine waiter was the star of the show. It was all an experience I highly recommend. Every single moment and detail was thought through, even the toilets. Even thought we had some... More

We went here for the thrill of it, going for the BOHEME BOURGEOISE tasting menu. Some had wine pairing, others juice, both pairings were spot-on. The food was surprisingly simple (even though we were prepared for foods based on Czech terroir), most of it worked and had intense taste, one or two samples did not take us to heaven, some... More

Nouvelle cuisine Czech style. The dishes intrinsically were interesting but poorly paired with the wine taster menu. Comically overpriced mainly for the pretentions to high end cuisine of which it has only the decor, service and open kitchen layout. Difficult to justify a return.

Having read reviews went with vegetarian friend. They easily accommodated her and in fact her food looked great. Quite a few amuse bouches before you start. We had set meal 6 courses plus wine. Bit mean on the amount of wine you get. All well presented and different . Have to say the food was probably more look than taste... More

We were here as a couple and enjoyed all the food very much. Staff were very good and the open kitchen gave a very good atmosphere. Reasonable prices - definitely recommend this place!

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
