Ceska Kuchyne feels much more like a cafeteria than a restaurant and, provided that's what you are expecting, then it's a great choice for the area. A throwback to an older time, you are treated to an old-school cafeteria buffet, dished up with minimal chit chat and pleasantries by the workers behind the counter. Your paper ticket/receipt gets scribbled on... More

Good quality food with reasonable prices, you can have multiple side dishes due to their strange way of taking orders but still it gives you the chance to ask around and know exactly what you're getting. Everything is added on your chart even the drinks.

Exhausted of walking and you are looking for a nice typical lunch in Old town? Havelska Koruna it's the perfect place to restore you. The food is very good and very cheap for Old Town. That's the perfect place to try various Czech meals and take a good beer. I don't agree with the comment about the staff. Of course,... More

I have never been one for self service places, until I got to Eastern Europe! I have found that self service restaurants give you the best and most authentic cuisine of the locals! Don't expect a bunch of healthy options, especially being in Czechia, but you can expect an tasty and authentic Czech meal! Save room for dessert and get... More

1979 visit. Great fun, people from all over. Try it you will like it! Prague was Communist then. Now a Republic. Czeck beer all over the area too.

Good food and cheap. Very good location, next to the Havelska market. It looks like a cantine and it is self service but the price and quality are very good. We tried some typical soups and the Chicken Schnitzel and everything was spot on. If you are looking for a cheap place with good food, go for it.

For the price i paid i was very full! It is cafeteria style where they give you tickets when you enter so the ladies at the back can write the order. You eat first then give the tickets back in the end as you exit. I believe i spent <$20 for two people. We tried the chicken Schniztel and also... More

Our travel guide recommended us this restaurant and good that we listened to him. On the entrance you get a blank paper on which will be written all the things that you'll order. Then you go from station to station and take whatever you want (stations: salat, sweets, main dishes and drinks). After you finish your meal on the exit... More

If you want to try the local food and eat like someone in Prague, this is your place. They have a lot of options, every one better than the others. After Spain, food in Prague was my favorite.

We were recommended to visit by a local and we were not disappointed. It was full of local people so surly that's a good sign? You get given a slip as you enter, find your table and collect you food and brinks from the counter. Return your tray after and pay in the way out. 2 x svickova ( traditional... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
