We tried this restaurant as a couple one night as it was convenient for the hotel opposite. We both had bruscetta to start which was very nice although the tomato could have been chopped a little smaller. The seafood broth which my wife had looked great and it put a smile on her face. She said it was just her... More

Our experience was fantastic from the start when they opened a special small dining room away from the noise of the main dining area after noticing that we had a sleeping child in the stroller. We started the meal with the salad with buffalo mozzarella and the minestrone soup. I was shocked when they brought out an entire pot of... More

Delicious and authentic Italian food, the house wine is excellent and the staff is very welcoming, speaks Italian and a good sign is that local Italians also come there to eat. Book a table as there are many who find this gem hidden in a basement in Prague. Oh did I mention the price, you do not believe what all... More

This small restaurant in the basement is run by very nice Italian family. It is a true Italian place with fresh and high quality food. Their home-made gnocchi made my day!

Even after reading other people's reviews we nearly didn't go in. From outside you have no idea what a lovely restaurant it is. Amazing Italian food and a real family atmosphere. Wish we were here longer so we could go again

The entrance to this restaurant does nothing to prepare you for the little gem that it is: once you descend the stairs and enter the dining room you arrive in a typical italian cellar oozing homeliness and their usual cosy and welcoming feel. Both the service and the food were simply excellent: nothing was over the top and screamy, it... More

Such wonderful homemade italian food, just like my Nonna used to make. Very reasonable prices as well. Lovely, friendly staff.

Arrived without booking a table and were seated with no hassle. Had Parma ham and mozzarella to start - simple but delicious. I then had mushroom ravioli in a butter sauce - it really was incredible. Staff were attentive and the food was excellent value for money. Best meal I had in Prague, would highly recommend.

Well this is quite the little gem! On our last night in Prague we went for something local, just round the corner from it hotel. If your not local it's worth finding because the food is exceptional! Without a doubt the best minestrone soup I have ever tasted followed by an amazing array of pasta dishes with the most authentic... More

Description
Cicala Trattoria - Back in 1997 a unique opportunity started to present itself in the centre of Prague - an opportunity to taste the real Italian cuisine flourishing under the baton of the culinary maestro Aldo Cicala. Today it has already been fifteen years since the restaurant opened for the first time and over these years it has won renown for its cosy family atmosphere, received numerous prestigious awards and welcomed many famous personalities. The restaurant owes its success first and foremost to its rich homemade Italian cuisine served with great attention to detail under the supervision of the talented chef David Cicala and to its emphasis on the quality of traditional ingredients. The restaurant also earned its high reputation thanks to the always friendly and accommodating staff who are also members of the Cicala family and create a genuine family atmosphere.

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
