This restaurant was the highlight of seven days in Prague. A beautifully appointed dining room sets the ambiance for an elegant food experience. The wait staff is very attentive and can offer menu suggestions in English. Overall, the cost was reasonable considering the same quality would have been at least two times more in New York or Paris.

After listening concerts in Smetana Hall in Municipal Hall, the heart was rejoiced but the stomach was yearning for scrumptious meal decided to have dinner at Francouska restaurants right at the ground floor of Municipal hall. The impressive art nouveau interior is Unique in europe and there was live music perfomance. The interior was so impressive that tourists could not... More

After being in Prague for a while, we thought the best way to spend our last evening was to attend a concert in Smetana hall and enjoy a late dinner at Francouzka, and there was no disappointment! The whole dining experience was perfectly in step with the wonderfully preserved (up to and including the sugar bowl)art nouveau dining room. Appetizers,... More

Francouzska Restaurace serves delicious haute cuisine in a grand palatial hall with magnificent Art Nouveau murals, sculptures and chandeliers. And all of this in the evening is accompanied by a live pianist who plays a repertoire ranging from classical to modern favorites. He was excellent and made the experience all the more pleasurable. Each and every dish was a gourmet... More

This place was recommended by a fellow foodie friend so I had high expectations and Francouzska did not disappoint. We had the prix fixe business lunch which came with roasted chestnut soup, chorizo crusted chicken in a corn puree and a fig cake with sour cream ice cream. All were delicious and beautifully presented. The homemade breads were also a... More

One of the best Art Nouveau dining experiences you will have anywhere in the world. Just check out the decor! It is amazing!! The meal and wines were top class and waiters and waitresses attentive and pleasant. Everything was great until the last final sting. The initial "champagne" offer (which is of doubtful quality) is extremely over priced. And the... More

Stunning location, full of history, and excellent service. We had fish and deer and both were excellent, in French style cuisine. We loved the local wine recommended by our waiter. Prices are very high and most guests were in gala wear: women in floor length, evening dresses and men in tuxedos. Live piano starts playing at 7pm. However maybe a... More

More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
