LIterally translated, Peklo means Hell but the atmosphere was not hellish at all. It was lovely and quaint and unique. A Prague treasure that you don't want to miss.

Went here with my girlfriend after a recommendation. It's a bit of hike uphill from the castle, but very worth it. Wonderful food. The beer was amazing, try the IPA. Wonderful setting as well. Can't wait to be back in Prague and dinner here.

My wife and I each ordered the Monastary plate for a starter, we should have shared it was so large and delicious. I then had a very nice goulash served in a hollowed out Round loaf of bread. The beer was very nice as well as the wine. I will probably never go to Prague again but if I do... More

We visited here for my husbands birthday, the atmosphere down in the wine cellar is gorgeous, all candlelit and feels very inviting, despite being quiet on our visit. We had the duck main course which was very tender and crispy. It came with red cabbage which was lovely and dumplings which were ok, abit bland perhaps. For pudding my husband... More

We discovered this restaurant by accident, we were walking from Petrin Tower to Prague Castle and stumbled across this restaurant, we were mainly attracted by the local monastery beer but when we went inside we went down the steps to the cellar, the bar and restaurant are very intimate and dimly lit with candles and low lighting creating a lovely... We've been living in Prague for some years and this was our first time in this place. As you can imagine we've tried any numer of pork knees and we can say this was one of the best by far. Crunchy and tasteful. The place is like a cellar, which creates a very special atmosphere. A bit dark as the... More

WOW is all I could say as we walked into the most fantastic crypt, the entrance looks like a small coffee shop, such a tiny entrance to wow. As it was lunch time we all opted for soup 2 goulash and 2 onion both served in a bread roll. Food was tasty and hot and looked amazing. The beer was... More

This restaurant close to the monastery offers a good selection of food for reasonable prices. Staff is friendly and helpful. The place is located in a cave which brings a special atmosphere.

I made reservations for my wife and I to dine New Years Eve ! We were promptly seated in the grotto. The cheese and meat appetizer tray had a wide variety of choices and all were delicious. The next course was soups in bread and both were very tasty . We each got the roasted chicken entrees and were very... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
