It's a great place to go for a beer, cheap, atmospheric and always full of locals. We really enjoyed their tlačenka (we ordered three in a row for just two of us!), and the beer (Kozel) was really good, too.

This was the most epic pub during my "tour de beer" in Prague. I visited almost 15 typical historical beer pubs in Prague and this one was very special. Historic and quite atmosphere, perfect beer and very tasty beer "snacks". I really recommend.

We never miss a visit to 'The Ox' when we visit Prague. Good beer, tasty food, prompt service. Shame about the cigarette smoke.

If you want to feel Prague you have to go there and order both type of beers! I will come back here in my next trip to Prague.

Others have committed that this place is quite touristy. Well, I found it the least touristy of the many drinking venues I visited on my trip to Prague- even though I was a tourist! There are certainly no concessions to the tourist. This is a proper Prague drinking establishment and although the beer could never manage to hit the heights... More

This place has for sure the best Kozel in Prague! and try řezané (half dark, half blond) its just to die for!!! If you want something small to eat, they have nice sausages made on fire. And it is right next to Prague castle, and still really cheap!

Touristy, but good food and beer. Cheap prices for the location. Huge menu, and good portions. A few veg options too.

Cheap and good enough beer, nice formation out- and inside, with bad service unfortunately. We went there with 20 other friends only for a beer, but there were no smile,no please, the waiter was a mallet. I cannot recommend this please.

Beer was good and cheap, but the waiter was simply a rude. Not recommended... there are a lot of better places in Prague.

A place to go as a group to chink glasses and bash the table when drinking. You can come alone or as a couple as well as sharing a table is likely to be a requirement as it is small and the deal is to slide along the bench and let others join. You'll get a mix of people from... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
