This restaurant - bar serves very good dishes of local cuisine. Among them, the duck is quite good and generously served. The service is quite efficient.

Standard pub from Pilsner group. Solid but not overly exiting good. Considering the fair price, good price/value. Beer obviously top as you can expect. Large downstairs (smoking). All of upstairs is non-smoking. Homey warm atmosphere. You can't go very wrong.

This place was packed and I'd recommend trying to book a table, although we were here the day the Christmas market started and a Friday night so not surprising. The food is great here and there's a lot of it! They have a wide menu and serve traditional Czech dishes with a lot of meat options. Well worth a visit!

After arriving on a Friday lunchtime this was the first bar restaurant we visited and found the local food on offer to be really tasty and good value for money. The local beer was also good and they also serve cider much to the delight of one of my friends.

Description
The famous Stopek's Beer House has always been one of the pillars of Czech social and cultural life in Brno. There has been a pub here since the second half of the 19th century. It became famous with the arrival of the new owner, the genius Jaroslav Stopka, who took over the original Jonak's Beer House in 1910. Period advertisements always declared that the best Pilsner beer could be had at Stopka's. The pub retained its character and atmosphere even after its extensive modernisation. The author of the façade of the beer house is Czech painter and graphic artist Láďa Novák (1865 - 1944), a well-know Prague bohemian and also the author of the decorations on the U Fleků Pub in Prague, was also repaired and renovated. Pilsner Urquell and dark Velkopopovický Kozel, Fénix and Birell Light are all on tap. The head chef at Stopek's Beer House, Matěj Kovacs, recommends the excellent rosemary flavoured roasted lamb hock.
