We found this cafe while walking at Cracovia's old town. A nice traditional place that has been there for over 100 years. At entering we noticed there was a pianist playing classical pieces of music from Chopin an other composers. A great atmosphere, we saw people in other tables who seemed to be regular customers for many years. Also some... More

We stopped for a late lunch/drinks on a sunny winters day. It was very busy and we were sitting outside which was very pleasant. The service however was very slow. It took a long time to attract the waiters attention and then even longer for the drinks to arrive. We never bothered ordering food and eventually went elsewhere. We even... More

More expensive than some we have been to but it is a lovely setting and the piano playing made it. The food was lovely as was the wine.

We arrived at our hotel at 9pm and then went looking for somewhere to eat. Most places were closing but this restaurant welcomed us in. The setting is formal but the vibe is relaxed. Panelled walls, chandeliers and a young playing a grand piano! Beer was cool and food was excellent and beautifully presented. We had Russian Pierogies and pork... More

Situated right on the main square, this fancy-dan cafe/salon couldn't have a better location. We didn't eat but there's a real sense of history about it - Lenin used to bring both his wife and his mistress there for drinks (not, I'd suggest, at the same time). Order a Zubrowka (a dry, herby vodka) and have an interesting glimpse into... More

Bang in the middle of the main square on the perimeter of the Cloth Hall, this is a good old-fashioned Central European cafe in the Viennese style. You can sit inside and take in the nice interior, or outside (even in Winter; you're under the arcading and there are gas heaters) and watch the life of the square. Coffee and... More

Beautifully decorated Viennese type Cafe/Restaurant - formerly a sweet shop - now restored to its full glory with huge mirrors, mahogany panelling, and sumptuous carpet. They have a grand piano which is played by a couple of young musicians. The service was VERY good. All of which created a lovely relaxed atmosphere to enjoy pre-dinner drinks. My Bloody Mary was... Wandered in here as it is very close to the Christmas Markets. We had to wait a while to get menu's and this slow service continued throughout the visit. We asked for our bill and it never came so we proceeded up to the counter to pay. We got a receipt for the two soups we ordered which came to... More

After two dsys in Moscow and two in Krakow with excellent tasty food an good service, we tried this restaurant. Only for something hot to drink and a small snack. The so called Irish Coffe tasted real bad (no sugar, old cream and bad spirit), and the snack never arrived. The waiter was impolite and not interested in service or... More

Enjoyed an hour or so in this historic bar prior to having dinner. What made it special was the great music played by a couple of pianists ranging from Chopin to Billy Joel. A little more expensive than other bars but still good value compared to the UK. After our drinks we enjoyed hot food in the Christmas Market. Perfect!
