This place was recommended by a local. Most of the folks eating there were locals as well. Wonderful Polish food, free soup with the meal, and large portions. We took home enough food for dinner the next night. They have beer on tap and in bottles. They have a menu in English.

As we passed by we saw locals sitting enjoying the food at this super little café. They have an English menu, but you have to ask for it at the counter. The food is basic but delicious and ‘cheap as chips’. The copious amount of meat pierogi was so very tasty, much better than ones I later tried in a... More

If you want authentic polish cuisine at a great price then look no further than Bar Smak. Two set menus available one is 16pln and one 25pln, the former will treat you to delights such as Turkey Rump, Breaded Chicken and Pork Chop with the latter giving you the tantalising choices of grilled chicken and more. Naturally, soup is included... More

This place is a must! It's a hidden gem a short walk from the main square. On first glance it looks a little 'traditional' and very local, however this is all part of its charm. Food is cheap! We over ordered so we could try lots of traditional dishes and sample real polish food. The place isn't very big but... More

My experience was nice ! I went there on my own because i wanted to find a cheap and simple restaurant. You won't find fancy food, rather basic soups, maybe chicken with potatoes, etc. The food was tasty and very cheap. Ideal for students , or just if you don't have much budget. I recommend it :)

I discovered this little gem while walking down the street wondering where to get dinner. I enjoyed the Pirogue & Dumplings so much, I went back there again for my last meal in Poland before I returned home. The food was delicious, fresh & so cheap!!! I'd definitely recommend it to anyone wanting traditional Polish food that's easy on the... More

Odd sounding little place off a main shopping street just to the West of the old city walls, but you have to ask for an English menu as aliens seem to be uncommon here! Waitress a little shy but the service was rapid and food very traditionally Polish. All four of us had something different and all agreed it was... More

Great value, we had 2 meals for £7 approx. It's simple Polish fare but very enjoyable. Sadly the lady taking the order is not the most cheerful.I don't think they are used to English customers as this place off the tourist trail

We went here for dinner. Waitress was the most unfriedly woman ever. Even for Polisch standards. Surfing on Facebook while i was waiting at the desk to order ... I even saw people smoking in the kitchen, NOT DONE. We chose for a menu, soup of the day and chicken. 25ZL. Soup was good, main course was average. Nothing special.... More

We wanted a simple Polish feed and quickly found it at Bar Smak. Right in the middle of all the fun but away from the touristy main square is this slap happy diner. The food is simple: fried pork chop, cabbage and mashed potatoes or chicken stuffed with cheese and served with fries. I had a pork steak, bacon and... More

Description
This is really a restaurant worth mentioning and I'd like to give it a short T/A review. We were in Krakow for three days and we ate there twice. It's just off where one of the entrances to the main square is and next to tram stops. It's where locals eat, very unpretentious, and the food is genuine Polish and very inexpensive—and delicious! There is an English menu so it's easy to choose what you want and to order it. The two times we were there, it wasn't crowded and there was no waiting. It was very peaceful and quiet and well ventilated. Well worth knowing about. There was a blog about it on your website.
