Great service Julia. Catfish, pork tenderloin and Borgrasgulyas was perfect. We will come back next time. Recomendations.
Nice place with very special food. Tasty, better for people who are coming to experience than for actual food. Staff are nice. Expensive a bit.
All dishes was very pretty, officiant was really funny. Located in city center ! We was really glad after our visit
Made a booking in this restaurant having passed it several times walking passed. Our table was in the basement and when we were shown to the table it had not been cleared properly and stains were evident on the table cloth from previous sitting. The...waiter apologised although there were plenty of other tables free. We were seated and the waitress did not approach for 30 minutes to take our order for drinks. We ordered a gin and tonic and 15 minutes later we were told there was no tonic. Although the waiter was apologetic, how it took 15-20 minutes was disappointing. The food, we could not fault. Hungarian cuisine with a finesse. The tartare and the foie gras was amazing. Price is reasonable for the type of food and the atmosphere and environment was fantastic. We would have tipped more if the service matched the cuisine but unfortunately it did not. Definitely worth a visit.More
I wish I could give this place a higher ranking as the food was excellent (although,I am basing this opinion on just one dish - baked aubergine with goats cheese - as we all had the same thing). They have a good selection of wines...(although the one we chose was not actually available...) Unfortunately, the service was such that I am not sure I'd want to go back. I had a booked a table for 5 and when I turned up, the table wasn't ready so I had to wait. No problem, it happens. However, they seem to have difficulties with basic maths as we got 4 side plates for 5 people. We then waited 40 minutes for a bottle of water, and 50 minutes for wine only for the wrong bottle to be offered to us (rose instead of white so it should have been easy to spot the difference). The staff managed to successfully avoid eye contact throughout the evening and even after I managed to catch the eye of one of the waiters, he looked at me, turned round to look for our server and then simply disappeared into the kitchen, without letting our server know that she was needed. The service was so crap that we actually had a good laugh so in a way it contributed to a good evening out.More
Family lunch at Borpince. Nice interior, pleasant atmosphere, food unfortunately hit and miss. While the tartare with anchovy was exceptional (and with an intriguing and spectacular presentation to boot), the veggie special - baked tomato with mozzarella - was exactly what it said on the...tin, and nothing more (i.e. boring). They also follow this annoying fashion where your main comes with no side and you have to order one (or more) - as an extra of course...On the whole, the food was above average, and they have a good selection of quality wine to pair with it (they also have beers, but you wouldn't know, since they're not on the menu. Why???). The main downside of our visit was the service - unfortunately something many that many places can't seem to get right in Poland to this day. Our waiter was pretty obnoxious (addressing us loudly, practically sticking his nose into our plates to check if we have finished, and generally lacking manners), to the point that we decided to skip dessert so that we could cut the interaction short. At other times, you'd try to get the attention of the staff, and you'll just have 4 waiters standing there, chatting to each others and uninterested in what's happening on the floor... If the management invested in some staff training, then Borpince could easily be a 4-4.5, because the potential is there...Until then, that's a 3 in my book.More
Had dinner here in September 2019. We were a group of some 50 persons. We got situated in the "basement"..which had a cosy atmosphere and was surprisingly not that hot..ok airflow. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, both before and during the meal. We...had the pork fillet with mushrooms and sour cream, potato confit in rosemary butter for a main dish. Which I think was actually our best meal whilst in Warszawa. Can recommend this restaurant if you are a larger group, they are friendly and also efficient.More
Well, it's really hard to evaluate a place wisited for last 12+ years, a place familiar yet still one of favorites. Let me put it this way: I was puzzled when Borpince had changed last year, new menu and bit changed interior - but now...I think this was a good move. The meals are great, the wine is great - still remains one of my top ones. "I'll be back" ;)More
A friend who lives in Warsaw took us here when my wife asked for fish soup. It was truly the most delicious fish soup that I have ever found at a restaurant. Highly recommended.
We visited here last night. Ordered a pike dish which came very small - 4 small cubes of fish with small amount of vegetables in it. The sauce was beautiful and the dish would have been so much nicer with some rice alongside . My...husband had a goulash dish which was good and much more hearty. Sides have to be ordered to substantiate the meal. Some bread served with pig lard or hot paprika sauce was given first. A more upmarket and more expensive restaurant from those on the main street which is lovely and the service is excellent.. however I did leave hungry having ordered the fish dish...More
We were hoping for the "dine in the dark" experience, but came on the wrong night. We sat in the cellar which was very cosy with the low arched brickwork ceiling and low lighting. The food was tasty and filling (especially the bread and spreads....The white wine was very tasty and well recommended by the staff.More
Good, authentic food. The waiter was EXTREMELY knowledgable and passionate about the cuisine and especially wine, which he recommended. We've had a great time eating a late dinner and enjoying good atmosphere and even some drinks on the house as we were the last customers...there. Highly recommended.More
A beautifully constructed restaurant with 2 levels. We were served by the attractive young KAROLINA who was an expert on goulash. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and full of taste, the type of meal you cannot stop eating. So much...goulash on the plate that we were unable to even consider a dessert or coffee. The meal was incredibly cheap, and this is the first on the list to visit when next in Warsaw. KAROLINA gave us perfect instructions to walk from the restaurant to The Old Town, just 15 minutes away Please give the Borpince a visit you will not be disappointedMore
Had steak tartare for the first time in decades and I picked a good place for it. They served it with all the ingredients seperate (egg, onion, relish) and left it to me to combine. I enjoyed that. I also had some cheeses and breads...recommended by my waiter. Good service, good wine, nice ambience. I would give five stars for all these things but I can only give an overall rating becaus the TA site doesn’t work properly on an iPad.More
