From outside this restaurant looks shabby and worn out, but don't be delusioned and just come in! I think it would be better to book a table in advance because the place is kind of popular and busy. We ordered goulash soup and fish soup, goose lever and pork gipsy style and shamloi galushka. Goose lever was so tasty, tender... More

Decided to go here because of the great reviews but I was dissapointed. We ordered beef goulash which was bellow average and the waiters were quite rude.

The beef and fish soup are good. Then I would recommend hungry style beef, beef with rice and goose leg and liver. We sliced the beef into small piece and mixed with bean sauce, rice. With beer it was so tasty! And the price was only 600 swedish kronor!!! You need to have a try!

Was recommended this on our first night in Budapest and spent a wonderful evening here. It was full of locals when we arrived (which I always think is a good sign) and it very quickly became obvious as to why. our waiter immediately made us very welcome and explained the menu to us. My daughter who's is unable to eat... More

Very good place for a dinner. Enough space for larger group of friends or big family. Great food and very good prizes. For two starter, hot wine and four mains we jus paid €35. Absolute bargain 😀

Later on Sunday evening, me and my boyfriend couldn't find anything open for a dinner. We accidentaly came accross this place. It was so crowded we had to wait to be seated, but that was no problem - the staff was very kind and helpful! The tradtional Hugarian cuisine was great, I can only recommend. Plus the English speaking staff... More

This was my second visit. Both times we have been very happy with all aspects of the restaurant. The building itself is done in an authentic rustic style. The waiters speak a number of languages, always seem cheerful and helpful and only too happy to please. The food itself it very tasty.....I recommend the Goulash soup. The main courses are... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
