I visited with my mother while on holiday in Budapest and we had a lovely dinner here. We both had the goulash soup followed by the paprika chicken and they were very good, probably the best meal we had in Budapest. The waiters were attentive and helpful and we really enjoyed our meal, would recommend. Live music was playing although... More

We went here on our second night and had a great meal we got to sit by the window and look out over the river. The waiters were great and very attentive and we loved the food we both had Veal Escalope and it was delicious and not too expensive.

This restaurant is located in the historic centre, right on the Pest riverbank with patio seating where you can watch the river traffic. Easily accessed by # 2 tram. Fairly upscale, it offers a small selection of comprehensive cooked breakfast items until about noon, when they switch to lunch and dinner mode. The main menu features Hungarian fare, soups, salads,... More

My husband and I had an outdoor table with a great view of the Castle District across the river. We each ordered a few glasses of wine, which were all right (not a huge selection by the glass). I had the roasted pike-perch with parsley potatoes, which was cooked perfectly, with a nice crisp finish to the fish. My husband... More

I was alone and as came there were some free tables, so I chose one with a lot of sunshine. Later came the waiter and asked me to move to another table because the table I sit at was for several people. I refused and told him I would not like sitting at the another table because it has more... More

We had dinner here with friends recently and enjoyed the atmosphere and the beautiful location. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was absolutely delicious. The meal was also reasonably priced.

Table we were assigned had not been cleared of dishes and glasses from previous customer. This took about 15 mins before table was cleaned. Adjacent table had glassware blown over by the wind shattering on the pavement but nobody tried to clean up the broken glass pieces. Cigarette butts on the floor were never cleaned up. For a good 20... More

If you are allergic to nuts in general don't go there, my girlfriend had a reaction after eating the strudel and the only thing they say is sorry, it's so dangerous

We were here with some locals. Given the price, the food was good. Not great. Service was good. Location was quite good. Not really complaining, but we think there are better choices.

Description
Our restaurant is located in the heart of the city centre, on Vigadó Square, looking on Duna-korzó. This wonderful walking path along the Danube on the Pest side has always been a favourite meeting and walking place for people and there has always been a coffe-house or a restaurant on the site of our venue ever since the 1870's. Duna Corso restaurant is run by the same family for more than 40 years. Now it is already the third generation working here, thinking over and recreating traditional recipes. The nostalgic old and the reformed new tastes of Hungarian cuisine combined with our own gastronomic traditions determine the selection on the menu. From early spring till late autumn we welcome our guests on one of the most wonderful, panoramic terraces whereas during winter time we await them with our classic and modern rooms. In the evenings the culinary experience is completed by live music. In 2015 we added a confectionary to our restaurant. We offer freshly made cakes and homemade ice-cream every day.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
