Me and my wife had an excellent evening meal at rose restaurant budapest. I had chicken wrapped in bacon with peach sauce and my wife had chicken paprika, both meals were gorgeous and the atmosphere was excellent with a violinist playing in the background. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. 100% recommended.

Ten of us visited this restaurant for dinner and we all had a great experience. Our server was very nice and accommodating, and was knowledgeable about the menu. They have a full bar with a great beer and wine selection. I can't remember what I had for dinner, but I do remember everybody in the group saying that they really... More

Big portions and tasty food. Welcoming ambience. Me and my partner went for lunch today and enjoyed some local food in this nice restaurant. The service is good and efficient.

We arrived very late the first evening and the hotel made a reservation for 10.30pm. The service was very good despite the late hour and the food was traditional, plentiful and good value for money. There was no music as we were too late, but we returned at 8pm a couple of days later and there was live music, which... More

We ate here twice. The first night it was not too bad - however the second night was not good. The consommé was not hot and contained too much pasta. The main courses were only luke-warm when they arrived and were served on cold plates. My wife's fillet steak was poorly cooked and unappetising and was served with a tiny... More

The food is a real deal! It's so delicious, and the price is not expensive. I recommend this place. We were actually looking for other restaurant nearby, but it was difficult to find. Then we found this restaurant. It was great. It has live music, Hungarian style. We loved being there.

Super live music in this cosy bistro combined with beautifully presented tasty food made this a great find just as we had almost given up on a good meal that night. Good menu and not too far from Boscolo Hotel .

Good choice of Hungarian food on offer. Nice rustic setting and they had 2 live musicians, with one playing the violin. Food portions are very generous, I had thee giant weiner schnitzel and this was a show stopper, especially as I ordered 2 sides as well, really didn't need 2! Prices were reasonable for the amount of good they served... More

Good restaurant in a hidden street of central Budapest. I had a dinner with my cousin. Starters were fine. The menu itself sounds absolutely fantastic, unfortunately the real taste of the food was not what we expected. I had the duck breat which was overcooked. My cousin had the steak tower with goose liver. The steak didnt tatste too good,... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
