We are here on a Saturday evening in December we reserved a table and we're glad we did as people were being turned away although I suspect they would have taken walk ins earlier in the evening The food was great and varied my wife's chicken was a little dry but my stuffed cabbage was incredible and the prices were... My partner and I chose to dine at Ruben based on the reviews of the TA community. Recently, there seemed to be a bit of a mix of reviews though given its close proximity to the hotel we were staying in we thought we would give it a try. It's away from the main street in quite a dark area... More

This restaurant has a reasonably comfortable interior but the brown and orange decor could be freshened up to make the place more inviting. The food tasted as if the chef had popped down to the local Aldi for supplies. Baked Camembert and lamb shank tasted just like the ones we buy from the supermarket back home. The food was not... Really not up to the ratings written here -atleast not for dinner. Although the portions looked ok they were not that special. The duck was really dry and tasteless as well as the smashed potatoes coming with it. The other portion we had was ok though - but so it should with the more than 3000 forinth price. The waiter... Food is good and taste. My bad experience is connected with a blonde waiter that takes order. After a discussion about our little late (15 min) he started to see us defiantly and to behave rude and unpolite without any reason. He continued in this manner and i think this is not the CORRECT way to treat the Customers. P.S.... More

I had a really good time there. The food was so good and cheap and the dishes were really big too. Very cozy restaurant and the service was really good. Liked it very much!

Our AirBnB host recommended this place to my friends and me, and it was wonderful! They serve a daily menu for a very very cheap flat rate, and it comes with an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert, all of which were delicious (especially the appetizer which was a flavorful and rich bean soup). We plan on going back... More

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
