I stumbled upon this place by recommendations from trip advisor and am so glad I did! The woman who owns the place is so lovely, we chatted for quite some time and she even offered me dinner recommendations! I got a coffee (which came with a cookie!) and a slice of pie, both were delicious! The women even let me... More

I was greeted very quickly. All the seats have a blanket so you can warm up from the cold. Their Hungarian cake is delicious. It's cozy inside and honestly priced.

We was nearby and decided to visit this Cafe for a spot of lunch and we loved it. The girl that worked there was a really lovely, sweet person and a delight to talk to. We got a hot chocolate and cheese toastie each which went down a treat. It's a bit cold in there but they turn the heating... More

Down a quiet street away from tourists so you need to know where to find it. Nice food and great hot chocolate, perfect stop for lunch while sightseeing.

Awesome little place, yes the price is higher than normal, but it is the castle district so normal! Service was fantastic and the server was just the cutest happiest little thing ever. Well worth a stop for a coffee and cake in the cold!

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
