This restaurant has an amazing setting overlooking the Danube and Pest. Beautiful interior. Service was excellent. A couple of issues stopped this being a 5 star rating. Firstly, there is an excellent violin player who comes to each table, spoilt at the end by trying to sell his cd's. In a restaurant of this quality and price it was rather... More

Incredible views and great prices. I had the entree of tuna, the main of venison and dessert of some fabulous local thing. Plus a gorgeous local wine. The sommelier knew it all and supplied something that was pretty hard to stop drinking. Perhaps book a table if you want to go as I wasn't near the window. I have to... More

The ambiance, food and service were fabulous. The only point of disappointment came from the prices for drinks ordered upon recommendation from the server without looking into the wine list or asking for the price - good quality but outrageous prices. So be careful on t hat, otherwise highly recommend.

I went here for a business lunch. I really cannot complain about the service or the food. They serve Hungarian food in an innovative way. I however, would never opt for this type of restaurant for myself, way too posh and expensive.

Snooty staff, drinks are OK, so is the food. I would recommend to visit the area, but only if you need to refresh yourself, should you go to eat or drink there.

We are on a short holiday as a family of 7 with a mixture of veggies and non-veg. On arrival the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself is stunning, used to be part of the castle and with a wonderful view of the pest at night. Great place for traditional Hungarian food and fantastic live music. They... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
