A nice quiet dinner with a great view of the bridges over the Danube. Had a delicious meal and received solid advice in our wine selection from Peter, our waiter. We sat by the window, which offered a great view but was a bit warm by the heater. The chef special of Todelli (ravioli) with a ragú sauce was excellent--highly... More

I have known this restaurant for quite a while and had some excellent meals here before, but last time I ordered something "off the standards list": a tortellini with tomato sauce. It is one of my favorite Italian dishes (I have a lot), but so far I have not ordered anything "usual" here, for the specialties were so great that... More

A great dinner in l'enoteca, with a waiter that his life mission is that we will enjoy our dinner. Food is very good, sea food pasta is recommanded. And for desert - the chestnuts-chocolate-mascarpone

Stumbled over this restaurant on our way back to our hotel. The menu looked inviting (for example risotto with truffels! That, btw, fullfilled all my husbands expectations) Had a great experience! Super friendly and proffesional waiter(s). Suggested perfect wine for main course, beyond that excellent espresso and grappa. Our "Budapest no. 1", so far. Recommended for a great, laid back,... It was the Whitsun holiday Monday and many restaurants were closed and we stumbled upon L'Enteca by chance. It looked inviting, the menu looked interesting, so we gave it a try. My wife and I shared black mussels, fisherman's style, for starters. Not overly hot, (temperature wise), tasty and OK. For main course my wife had home made pasta with... More

Very nice wine bar where you can also eat. The food comes from the italian restaurant a bit further in the street, but everything was very nice: Service was very good - the food was outstanding, good ingredients, nice presentation and fair prices. I can recommend this to people who really love authentic toscan food.

Popular restaurant, lots of customers and excellent food from the trattoria. Nice terrace with nice atmosphere. The service were slow, had to wait almost an hour for the food. When we asked for the bill, the waiter said ok and then started to do everything else instead of making the bill. Seems like they try to have people sitting in... More

This is one of those cases in which the number on the ranking does not represent how good a restaurant is. L'Enoteca is a magnificent little restaurant (attached to La Trattoria), beautifully decorated. I'll start from the most important and relevant thing...wine! The place has an amazing selection of local wines along with a notable selection of italians. Moreover, you... More

Our party of five ate here recently as the patio of Trattoria Toscana next door was full and this "sister" restaurant offered the same menu. The view of the Danube and Gellert Hill on a warm evening was perfect. The variety of appetizers and main courses we ordered were all very nicely prepared & presented and were flavourful. We would... In addition though, it has a wine list of over 300 wines, primarily Italian and quality Hungarian wines. The main floor has been renovated recently to sit more people and the beautiful terrace, overlooking the Danube river and the Buda hills and the castle, has also been expanded. The wine cellar in the basement is ideal for wine tastings for groups of up to 25-30 people and can be booked for special parties. Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
