The wines here are simply wonderful and they will suggest the most exquisite wines to suit your descriptions and requirements. With small snacks as well and great place to sit back and enjoy.

Great staff, very knowledgeable on their wines (must be hundreds) with great food; special atmosphere - right at the end of Chain bridge (Buda)

Came here on the way to the Tram stop. Came in and it was reasonably quiet for lunch time. Goose liver was scrumtious and the wine selection lovely. With a very informative waiter who spoke really good English. Lovely view of the river. Nice random spot to come to.

We were staying at the Victoria and wanted somewhere close on our first night and the Andante was recommended. We had an interesting evening! Apparently the menu and wine list was changing in a couple of days and several dishes and wines on the menu were no longer available. The food that was left was actually very nice although the... Wine tasting was good and the waiters went great lengths to satisfy our request. The food took a longer time than expected but was good quality.

Chose the place based on Tripadvisor reviews and were as disappointed an NEVER before. Actually had to go to another restaurant right away to make up for totally disastrous dinner. Disgusting food, horrible service with the waiter not being able to explain what he serves and remembering to serve wine only after being asked 3 times. Totally annoying dude playing... More

We were staying in Hotel Victoria and wanted a place for dinner that was relatively close to the hotel. Andante fit the bill. Some construction going on outside so one would not be initially attracted to the restaurant. Hotel made a reservation for us and we sat on an elevated separate area since no window tables available. No problem. We... More

Good wine. Very slow service. Almost empty restaurant, but still waiting for food very long. Appetiser were expensive for what you get. Main dish good tasty, all a bit spicey on the same way, using spicy paprika.

Me and my friends had a beautiful evening in "Andante" yesterday. Thank you for the staff. The waiters were friendly and helpful, they gave as nice recommendations of wines and courses also. (they know a lot about the Hungarian wines.) The traditional hungarian goulash soup was awesome and the main course "paprika chicken with noodles" was pretty good. Thank you... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
