Nice setting and atmosphere. Good service I just found the food very average for the price. So I wouldn't rush back. Plenty of other places around for a lot cheaper and much better.

Cafe Vian is a mainstay among top restaurants in Budapest. The original restaurant at Liszt Ferenc Ter is famed and is recommended by most guide books, and rightly so. It is a wonderful place to get excellent food, served properly, at reasonable prices. BUT this is not the only Cafe Vian in Budapest. There are 2 others, one in the... More

Found this restaurant on our last day. Visited for lunch. Lovely sandwiches and hand cut chips at a reasonable price. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Wish we had found it sooner

We stopped here more out of desperation than deliberation, after a 12 mile walking day around Budapest with a seven year old, and we're very glad we did. We picked three fairly local style meals and an enormous Greek salad to share (sorry, I can't do meals of meat and stodge without something green and crunchy!) and it was excellent.... More

We stopped by for a late breakfast, and were absolutely delighted. We had a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice (delicious!), and the hostess carefully inspected the glass to ensure its cleanliness prior to using it. The scrambled eggs and jam filled croissants were amazing. Great, friendly people who really know the meaning of the word "service."

I went to this restaurant to have a late night meal. After a long deliberation, I found something I liked in the breakfast section of the menu (lecso with eggs), which is normally eaten for lunch or supper in Hungary. I did eat it and it wasn't bad, but certainly not a patch on my Mum's lecso. The peppers and... More

Went for lunch and i was dissapointed. I ordered the salmon salad and the salmon was canned and oily and the lettuce was drenched in oil. I only managed to eat half. That said, my companions both enjoyed their plates.

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
