We found this pub as it was near our hotel. Food was good and well priced although the waitress was a little disinterested and could have been friendlier. The place was almost empty, so was nice and peaceful. We didn’t have to wait too long for our food to arrive. We had the duck, which was nice - but enough for... More

One of our regular places. Hidden in a street, below ground with no view except for paintings on the walls. Food has been normally good, drinks and beer good. Except when the flies comes around, again... And how the f...k can it be that difficult to clean the sink and toilets??? They have been a disaster for years and years.... More

We are vegetarians. Me, my wife and daughter. And this place had some decent food for us. My son-in-law can eat both meat and vegetarian. The menu was in Hungarian and and English. So no problem in ordering. Only one lady was at the bar and she took our order in good English. Food and drinks was served by her.... More

Good beer, good GT's and good food. Like to see fresh salad that tastes fresh and looks good. Been eating most of the menu, all good. Last year we had good fun but the small "beer-flyes" were allover but they were almost gone now... We have seen dirty toilets many other places, but the should do some effort here. But... More

The place is not significant apart from the full-size drunk doll which takes time to get used to. The food was o'k but not spectacular. It is open until late which is convenient.

Actually when we went downstairs to the pub, their was no other guests there even it was a Sunday noon. We ordered the pizza and drink some lemonade, it was delicious pizza, but the price are a bit high. The service was good though, maybe because we were the only customers that day noon.

We came to this little pub/restaurant on the strength of Tripadvisor ratings. I suppose there is no accounting for taste, because there was nothing at all impressive here except the size of the burger bun. Upon calling over to ask if they were still serving food, we were hung up on. Hoping to find something warm and close, we ventured... More

Visited this restaurant/pub on first night of our 4 day stay at Boscolo hotel. Reason we decided to visit as long day and immediately around corner from hotel. Pleasantly surprised with food quality and price. 2 starters to share, 4 mains washed down with local beer and wine all for circa £45 Recommend pork escalope and beef goulash. Worth a... More

The reception of the hotel we stayed at, advised us to go to Piszkos Fred for dinner. We were one of the few inside, but were well served by the staff. We had grilled salmon, my friend had a steak and we shared a Cesar salad. We enjoyed the meal, very good value for money 7670 Forint for meals and... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
