I had heard a lot about it and it still impressed me. It is like eating at home, freshly prepared wholesome Hungarian food. One should not be on a diet, but enjoy all that Central Europe has to offer, accompanied by a great selection of wines. All of this in a very cosy setting where everything is supervised by the... We chanced our luck by turning up without a reservation and luckily we were able to reserve a table within the hour. The restaurant is small and intimate but that is part of the attraction, we could see the two chefs preparing the food and we were close to other diners, but it didn't feel too intrusive. The menu is... More

It's been a very small crowded restaurant with nice host that helped us enjoy a great meal with incredible taste. We were lucky to find a place to stay but you should do a reservation to be sure you get a seat there. Don't miss it if you go to Budapest!

This is a cozy place where you can eat some traditional foods and liver prepared very well. They change the menu every week so you can taste a lot of dishes.

Sadly we were unable to sample the food at this restaurant. Despite booking by phone at 5pm when we arrived at 8pm the very unhelpful manager denied all knowledge. He confirmed the phone number we used was correct but absolutely refused to entertain that he'd given away our table. Mistakes happen but his manner was incredibly rude and aggressive. Not... More

We went on the off chance of a table and were lucky to get one with only 9 small tables in the place. Yes it means you're close to your neighbours, yes it means you cant spread yourself out, but what a great atmosphere and great food. Food cooked right there at the back of the restaurant, wild boar neck... More

Kispiac Bisztro was a fabulous place, a place we have been to many times over the years. We also sent numerous people to it as it was one of our favorite restaurants in Budapest. But the staff at Kispiac Bisztro is always imposing rules on you when you try to make a reservation. They gave us an hour and a... More

We came here based on a recommendation from a friend. Really glad we came here, it is a lovely cozy restaurant with seating for only 15 or so people. We had lovely wine here and our dishes deer goulash and pork knuckle were lovely.

Our tour guide told us about this place kinda off the cuff because she knew we were foodies. Had a terrific meal and glass of wine. Yes, people are right, very small but cozy.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
