The food is good and the prices are fair but the staff were rude and unpleasent during the dinner. Felt like they wanted us to leave in order to free up our table for other guests.

We passed by ES a number of times and had thought about stopping by, however from the street looked like there were only seats outside. We had been eating and drinking at the Christmas markets and many local outlets and were looking for something local but different. We took a chance to visit and enjoyed our time. We were greeted... We had a meal here on Saturday and the staff did an amazing job of accommodating our group of 13. The food was delicious and the staff were so helpful prior to the trip when I emailed them (as we had several people in the party with food allergies). They recommended sharing several starters- it was the perfect way for... More

I have returned on many visits to Budapest specifically to introduce other travelers to the Epic Duck Burger. Other food is good as well. Great wine list. I like to sit outside and people watch. Very friendly service.

We walked around the city looking for a place for dinner as our first choice was booked, but this place was great. The waiter recommended I have the ribs and they didn't disappoint! Amazing staff

Great selection of local food, blended by classics as burgers and ribs. Creative child menu and huge selection of wine....

Second time I've gone to this restaurant and both times I've enjoyed every course. The goose liver pâté, paired with the wine that the waiter recommended, was one of the best. Highly recommended!

We visited this restaurant for dinner. We had schnitzel, tartar and local sausages...and it was amazing. We were very satisfied also with local vine selection and with pleasant staff.

We arrived late Friday for a quick dinner so there was no problem getting a table, which I imagine could be a challenge at other times. The restaurant was fairly full but we did not have to wait long for a table and menu. We wanted fois gras, so we ordered both a terrine and a dish with grilled goose... More

Description
Az ÉS egy laza magyar vendéglő és pecsenyesütöde, ahol a hagyományos éttermi formai megkötésektől mentesen is jól érezheted magad sörözés, borozás, beszélgetés közben falatozgatva. A klasszikus magyar fogások mellett izgalmas falatozós ételeket alkottunk, emellett húsokat, halakat grillezünk. A már ismert monarchiabeli ételek, különleges grillek ÉS falatok mellett izgalmas bor- ÉS kézműves sörválaszték vár. ***Wine bar, beer pub, terrace, bistro, restaurant, brasserie. In ÉS you don’t need to have traditional dishes and follow dining traditions. The menu has three separate parts: nibbles to share, typical dishes of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and grilled meat and fish. A unique, unconventional wine and beer selection rounds off this delicious gastro experience. Breaking with the formality of dining traditions, i.e., the sequence of starter, main course and dessert, guests can have nibbles while enjoying a glass of wine or beer. Night and day. With friends and family.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
