For light eaters, we find Hungarian food is a little on the heavy side. So we came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon after church service. So that we have the full day to digest!! It almost feel decadent! The Hungarian food, especially the duck, was superb. The service is superb too! Very very professional...equivalent to fine dining. There... More

We entered this restaurant while wandering the streets and based on a fast search on TripAdvisor. First, I wasn't so excited about the classic formal appearance of the restaurant as I prefer more laid-back places, but after we ate I was very happy with my choice. I really appreciated the care for our 3 years old kid, they offered to... More

We had the manu dishes, it was very nice. The Gulash soup was great, the Papricash was beautiful and the palm strudel was to die for. The service was very professional and friendly. And it wasn't expensive at all. Highly recommended

I was with a group of 7 and it we went to the restaurant when attending a conference at Millenáris park. The food was very good and seemed traditional. The musical entertainment was excellent and did make for an overall enjoyable evening.

We have steak and lamb saddle and it's the best we have tasted in Hungary. Waiter Denes' service is excellent,he recommended the red wine and dessert wine to accompany the food. The violin and piano performance plus the interior decoration of the restaurant makes it a romantic dinner. Memorable!

This place surpassed all expectations- we had a group of 13 people, we wanted something traditionally Hungarian and somewhere we could spend our Saturday evening without being rushed. This place was the exact ticket. The staff were pleasant and the food was absolutely delicious; I must say the music is a lovely addition, even though we probably sang over the... More

Excellent food, wine, service, entertainment! From appetizer to dessert, all superb. Ordered from the non-alcohol fixed price menu which had plenty of options. Ordered wines and water separately. Wines were reasonably priced and very good. 9 diners in our group, no complaints, just raves. Thank you Tibor for a wonderful day's end. Loved the old world decor.

First night in Budapest, I didn't know what to expect regarding cuisine. Hotel highly recommended this restaurant. A must to try true Hungarian cuisine. Lovely, fine dining atmosphere with live music. What a pleasure!! Service was outstanding and English speaking. They should all be this nice and reasonably priced.

The 'Kacsa' (Duck) Restaurant is situated in Buda in the heart of Vizivaros spreading at the feet of Castle Hill on the corner of Fo and Kacsa streets. Vizivaros (Watertown) ows its name to being part of the strategic waterways in the Roman times with its vivid harbour and bustling commerce. It still preserves the atmosphere of the old times with narrow alleyways in many places. The restaurant having been in operation for more than fifty years is established in one of these tarnished buildings. In 1987 it was the first restaurant in private ownership in Budapest.

We offer typical Hungarian dishes beside the main specialities of the restaurant, the famous duck meals, which are served with an excellent selection of wine exclusively originating from Hungarian wine-cellars.
70 Different courses can be found on the menu from cold starters to desserts, among which 9 are duck specialities. Live gipsy music provides a memorable experience every night together with the intimacy of the dinner.
The kind and friendly staff, the beautiful cover, live music and the elegant setting create a splendid atmosphere for consuming a family, a romantic or a business dinner as well as a meal with your friends.
Visit our restaurant and make sure in person that it is not by chance that this restaurant is listed to be as one of the best of Fine Dining Restaurants.
